Is there a setting somewhere to NOT have the horn toot every time I use the key fob to unlock the doors?

I just unplugged my noisemaker last weekend, love it, and reversible if needed. On mine, it is in the engine bay, battery side, near radiator i think. small black mailbox looking thing. parking lights still flash as well.

I was able to disable the beep on the keyless entry for my 2015 using info I found here on the site. I didn't have to remove or unplug anything, just some key on-off and door open/close routines.

Search it son, but here ya go anyways

    1. Opened truck with fob.
    2. Opened driver door, left open.
    3. Inserted key into ignition, didn't turn it, removed immediately.
    3. Reinserted key within 5 seconds.
    4. With key in ignition, turned it to the "on" position immediately.
    5. Waited 10 seconds, THEN pressed the unlock button on the fob twice in quick succession. Note: Truck beeped twice signaling it was unlocked.
    6. Rotated the key to off.
    7. Removed key.
    8. Exited truck, closed door.
    9. Pressed lock button on fob, and door locked, no beep sound.

Note: lights did blink once to show locked, twice for unlock with NO beeping sound.

I can understand wanting a confirmation beep when walking away and locking the doors, but why would you need or want one when UNlocking them and walking toward the truck? Lift up on the handle. If it opens, it's unlocked.

IIRC, you can use the lock button on step 5 to turn things back on, if you're so inclined. I haven't tested it. I was pleased just to disable the annoyance...

To those that may enjoy the beep, ask your neighbors if they like hearing you lock and unlock you truck, especially if you are an early riser or come home late at night.

I have a new 2015. I don't like cars that HONK, but the beep isn't that bad. I like it. And think about what an advantage this is for all the blind drivers who cannot see... the lights.... oh... wait a minute.....

Only have my truck for a few days and still getting used to the keyless entry. I dislike horn honks but so far the beep doesn't bother me and isn't really that loud. Glad there is a way to disable it as my attitude towards it may change as I get used to the new truck.
