In our case, your definition actually makes more sense. Technical Service makes it sound like a computer problem.

For me it means "Technically, we should have fixed this before the vehicle left the lot, but decided we could wait till a few lawsuits popped up"

Here's a true story (since I love hijacking threads).
A few years ago, Ford had a problem with brake pressure sensors catching fire on Explorers. Often burned down the truck, your garage and sometimes the house. A few lawsuits later, they issued a recall. Meanwhile, Ranger owners are yelling "hey, we got the same sensor". Ford ignores them, saying it was a certain batch, only made on a full moon, in southwest Bulgaria. They swear the Rangers are fine. I don't believe them and start pulling the leads off the sensor when I'm parked at home. 3 months later, Ford installs a new sensor and wiring on my Ranger as part of TSB while it's in for an oil change. Bastards.

There's also another one for the needle bearing, since you are 4x4. Might as well get that one done too.

Where do you guys find info about TSBs? Some of these seem to apply to me, but I'm having trouble finding any details through google.

Kept my appt. at the dealership, had tsb0026-15 done, that's the needle bearing replacement in the front diff.
Only a short drive home, didn't notice anything, I'll put some more miles on it tomorrow!
