Finally installed a new set of leaf springs last night the old ones had about 255K miles ordered a set form General Spring of Kansas City and just got the stock replacements(90-235 and 90-237) sits about 2" higher so hopefully after they settle should sit about 1" from where I was with the old leafs.11880367_864243637000697_4770971871417369771_n.jpg 11951747_864243650334029_7696769535193495937_n.jpg

I put my General leafs on about 8000 miles ago. They raised my truck 3" and they still haven't settled.

Thank you for posting your truck with the general springs . I really have been looking to get a HD set for my 04 as I have fell victim to negative arch . So my question is how do they ride and do they squeak .

They ride great. The don't really squeak. They kindof "creak" just a little.

i am pondering the thought between the OME and the HD general spring . I am not going to be flexing to hard core and the HD springs by general springs would be good for extra weight for towing and hauling .

too bad, you should have gone with the heavy duty set, the ride is the same but it adds extra 400 lbs payload capacity to your truck, well worth the small added cost

mine don't creak squeak or make any noise at all and it rides like a cadillac

They ride like factory and they do not squeak that I can tell. They squeaked a little after I installed them but nothing since. So far I am very happy with them.

Yes I am thinking about adding a leaf or 1" block after I put some miles on them.

I'm looking for a 1/2" block. Does anyone know where I can find one? All I've seen are the 1".

When it comes to blocks you can make your own. I cut mine out of square boxed tubing. Then turn the tubing flat so it sits beneath the springs. I work at a sawmill and made them on my break. That was on my old Tacoma. On my 04 I have now I try to stay away from blocks. I used an AAL. Or I would use a shackle. I hate blocks.

Hello everyone, glad I came across this thread. My friend and I just installed a pair of HD General springs as well. Waiting on new shocks to arrive to install those. Seems like w/ the new HD springs the shocks are too short? Of course we still have the truck on a jack and stands. Anyone else have any issue w/ the shocks being too short after installing the new General springs? Of course once I get the tires on and the truck back on the ground maybe it will compress enough to get the new shocks on.

Also does anyone know what the bed payload w/ the HD springs is?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

With 1st gens any lift at all will limit-out the stock shocks pretty much...

Ok good to know about the stock shocks. I ordered a pair of Bilstein HD shocks so hopefully they will be longer than the stock shocks.
