Anybody know of any lakes in SoCal that would allows us to drive our Tacos' up to the shore and fish? If there's one like that, I was thinking we organize a meet where we can pull up to the water get out lines wet, kill a few feesh, grill something and shoot the shit with eachother. I know the Ocotillo Wells meet is coming up so why don't we do it sometimes after that.

Just throwing this out there to see what everyones' opinion on it is.

For the freashwater guys.....isn't trout season or something right now?

I think Lake Henshaw you can pull up to shore too....Correct me if I'm wrong. But I don't know if there's any trails near by.

I hate 1/2 days man waste of time IMO. I rather do 3/4. But lets see what we can get together 1st. But I'm always down to do some fishing.

Are you thinking of doing a 1/2 day on the Premier??

I'm not sure if this would be a good season for deep sea fishing, trout season should be open very soon.

funny i know the owner of the premier, point loma, dolphin, chubasko, cherokee, red rooster, i worked at smart n final back in the day in point loma and all the owners used to come buy their food there, oh the malaheene (totally spelt that wrong). plus frank lapreste owner of the royal polaris. but i quit so no more free rides :(. but i did see jim the owner of point loma and i told em if he wanted me to detail his truck it would be 200 bucks or we could do a trade

Possibly Lake Morena if there's enough water in it, seriously, you could drive right up to the water, plus there was basically off roading all the way around it, you could leave the shore line & off road right into Corral canyon & about 40 some-odd square miles of trails, fire roads with some trails that are perfect for the newbies to wheelin' all the way to some shit thats gotta be a rock crawlers wet dream, I just don't know if the access is there like it used to be . I posted a couple of pics of Corral Canyon with Lake Morena in the back ground, I love to bass fish, did alot of it when I worked at El Capitan reservoir for 4 years, I say "hell yeah" let's soak some shiners, throw some plastics, work a crawdad whatever makes her bite.....

Last I checked Lake Morena had the usual Large mouth Bass, catfish (blues & channel, plus bullhead)crappie, blue gill, at one time they stocked trout cause the lake is high enough elevation wise it stays cool but with the water level as low as it is I don't know if they still do. ( the only water Morena gets is from rain & run off)

P.S. on a low key point any lake that stocks trout HAS HUGE HAWGS waiting to be stroked, trout have no scales & when they get dropped in the water from the stocker truck trout are nervous, moving all around in a small area initially and the reaction to the Bass is like dumping a bucket of blood in a school of sharks, I've used trout before for bait years ago & it was awesome BUT IT IS AS ILLEGAL AS HELL ! We used to call it "dragging T's". Because you'd just troll in about 35 - 50 ft of water (or wherever we graphed them) With salt water gear , 40lb test mono , 0/1 0/2 hook, maybe an ounce or 2 weight to keep'em in the zone & the bait would be about a 8" -12" rainbow & trust me , when you got bit it felt like an Albacore or Bonita .. ... fun as hell....
