Here in California it's technically illegal to drive around with a trailer ball and hitch not towing a trailer but its not really enforced.

You can have a flat receiver just not a hitch and ball installed.

Replaced chrome badges with Sockmonkey black badges, painted billet grill black, K&N cold air intake, my corner light turn signal circuit, Speedfreek traction bars, RAAMaudio BXT/Ensolite, Stereo: Kenwood KIV-701 USB/Bluetooth deck, 10" Pioneer shallow sub behind the rear seat, Infinity 6822cf 6x8 front and rear doors, Fosgate P400-2 (sub), US Acoustics USX-4065 (four main speakers)
My color matched fender flares were getting crunchy near the rubber molding (kept chipping) and the clear coat was starting to come off quickly. I pulled them off.

I had them painted and then I put new rubber trim on myself. FYI the rubber trim comes with an adhesive on it so it stays on.

Now she is ready to roll.

I always keep it on. I can see it being really annoying for me to take it off and put it back on.

$16 for just one rubber trim for the fender flares o_O but I will do this mod soon. I already done my front/rear bumper and the grille. Need to paint these soon, tired of that plastic look. I'm gonna put 5 coats with a lot of clear coat to finish it off.

I also got my mirrors painted (basically anything that was plastic and then painted was starting to have clear coat problems). The flares were the worst because the paint was actually flaking off. Four flares and two mirrors was $500. They did the painting prep (taping off the mirrors, sanding down the flares were the paint was chipped off so it would be smooth). Looking at the breakdown of the estimate, I am guessing the flares would have cost between $300 and $375 if I just had them done. For less than two car payments, I was able to freshen her up quite a bit.

Pretty close to $16. About $13 each online. I also ordered the red and blue clips from clipsandfasteners.com Red are Toyota 90904-67037 QTY 18 and blue are 90904-67036 QTY 8. I got 20 red and 10 blue for about $18 plus shipping.

The clips for the most part stayed in the fender holes when i pulled the fender flares off, but most of them were damaged. All, but one blue was trashed although more than half of the red were OK. I replaced them all anyway

Don't worry, if I moved to the West coast it'll be whenever the Jefferson State comes to be.

What's the CVC? Unless it's blocking the visibility to the license plate, I don't see any laws that make it illegal.

Soooo...never...PA is a nice place. I grew up just north of Philly. I haven't been there since 1996 or so though. I kinda miss the trees and rocks. We have trees and rocks here but they aren't quite the same.

I was pulled over for doing the flow with the freeway with mine attached, the officer informed me that mine since it stuck out past my bumper that it was illegal and had me remove it.

Was let off with a warning on all issues and I understand the not needing to have it in place if not towing.

I looked it up and found info on it and I will try to find it later.

There seems to be an issue with the letter blocking on stock location but more important is the damage potential to other objects.

That's fine, but I'm skeptical "laws" as dictated by forum threads and warnings without citation from officers. If my vehicle is in violation, I ask for the CVC. I mean I wouldn't put it past CA, I just like to confirm. Obstructing the view of a plate, I understand. Damage to potential objects? I guess my thoughts are if you're 3" from my bumper, you're too close.
