Well I finally had a chance to tow a long distance with my Tacoma. Drove from Maryland to Florida just over 1000 miles. Averaged between 14.8 and 16.1 miles per gallon. 2008 dc sport with TRD supercharger. 128K miles on the truck and it pulled great. Trans temp never went over 200 the entire trip even with 95+ temperatures. 16 foot dual axle 10000lb trailer (weighs 2k ) Car is 2000k (2006 Lotus )

Sorry, OME heavy lify 886 and dakaar rear leaf pack. Allpro rear bumper and Arb front bumper. Once i had the weight of the car centered properly during loading, it had great balance, no tugging or bounching.

Nice! I like how all the photos are of you at a gas station, so I'll believe those MPG numbers.

Is your Taco an auto? Did you run it in overdrive while on the freeway? I had a friend with a Lotus. It lasted up until he got married and the first baby was made....

Taczilla, I do not auto cross the lotus, bought it new in 2006 and it only has 12k miles, just a fun car.

I know I'll catch flack on this but during the drive I was in OD for a bit. Only at speeds over 65 mph. I watched the trans temps very closely and didn't allow the transmission to "hunt". Mostly when the roads were flat and cruising along at the higher speed to reduce the rpms.

Pro FX mirrors came in handy too, well worth the $$ if you tow.
