Long-time Southern California TW member, professional photographer, off-road enthusiast, and most importantly husband and father @mikesdoublecab has been dealing with kidney failure since 2011, but recently things took a turn for the worse and he's now undergoing dialysis and has been unable to work. From his page:

My name is Michael Anthony Hermogeno. I am an average guy with a not-so-average life. Born and raised in Los Angeles, I have seen, done, and met a lot of amazing people. I try to see the beauty in everything and everybody. I like to listen to people. I like to experience new things. I like to eat. I like being me.

To many, I am a freelance photographer with a specialty in the plus size industry, but did get my start in the entertainment scene shooting red carpet events and performers' headshots. To some, I am an avid desert off-roader. To most, I am a total jackass who likes to delve into sarcasm and self deprication. To all, I am a family man who loves and adores his wife and kids. My girls are the center of my universe.

In 2011, I suffered a bout of acute kidney failure and have been dealing with Chronic Kidney Disease. For years, with the help of my doctors, we managed to keep it at bay. In the summer of 2015, however, something changed, and my GFR plummeted from 34 to 9. I spent half of August 2015 in the hospital.

    I am now in Dialysis.

With my symptom complications, I stopped working in Spring 2015. While I hate to admit I need help, I could use a boost to catch up on expenses as I am in the hospital 3 days a week for dialysis treatments while I search for a kidney donor.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated and I humbly thank you for your consideration.

We're trying to see how we can get a donor list going. Maybe give a small gift, or prize for those who test to see if they are compatible. All cost will be covered, except any time off for the person donating a kidney. This is a life or death thing folks. Any and all help/suggestions are welcome!

Thanks so much guys. Up until a couple months ago I was mostly in denial about how sick I was. The last month in the hospital and the subsequent surgeries kicked me in the face with a dose of reality.

Working on getting my donor requirements finalized at UCLA Medical Center.

Thanks guys... the words of support mean a lot...

Crazy update, but my heart test results came back to complete my submission to get on recipient list and apparently, sometime recently there is indication that I had a heart attack and didn't know it... I now have blocked artery(ies) that need to be found and cleared... Going back on medical records, it looks like one of my recent ER visits got mis-diagnosed, so my dad is working with the hospital to investigate the issue...

I am feeling about the same otherwise... Ups and downs... Drained literally and figuratively speaking...

    The saga continues...

Kind of crazy. I went in feeling really sick. Blood pressure was averaging around 240/180 and at one point got to 260/220. They put me on nitroglycerine and a bunch of other meds and had me hooked up to EKG monitors. They ruled out heart attack because my blood test showed kidney distress, which they say can cause false readings of high troponin.

Well, a couple months later they run an adenosine stress test to get me on the transplant list, and this all comes up... they have to do an angiogram in 3 weeks to find the blockage(s) and then insert stents or open heart depending on how extensive the damage is... i am hoping for best case scenario with stents instead of open heart...

thanks... it's been a total pain in the ass... i spoke to my health insurance on Friday and apparently, they recently terminated their contract with my local hospital and told me i can no longer receive treatment there... i now have to find a way to continue my dialysis there... they told me i need to go to a hospital 25 miles away from my house instead of 4 miles as i have it now... i'm not supposed to drive myself to and from dialysis, but not sure my wife can drive me and still stick to my kids' school schedules...

    damn health insurance issues....
