Switching tires right outta the gate on my TRD OR. They have 500 miles on them. 265 70 16 Rugged Trails. What do y'all think I should ask/expect for these dudes? Thanks for the continued help. This website has been VERY helpful. :)

Sadly the tires are garbage. I took my tires off my TRD Sport within the week of buying them and I got 200.00. OEM is really crap quality when it comes to tires.

    Rugged Trail? Or Rugged Terrain?

Pretty much the "Rugged Trail" is an inexpensive tire with not much of a reputation. You'll sell them to someone who needs new rubber on their truck. The fact that there's a fifth tire isn't much of a plus for the guy who's replacing four tires at a bargain. Is the fifth tire even the same kind? Or is the spare the Dunlop Grand Trek?

The buyer then needs to find a tire dealer to mount and balance.

Brand new, you can buy rugged trail's in my area for $126 each with a warranty and everything.

If it was me, I'd try selling the first four for $75 each, with a discount on the fifth tire: $350. Then I'd expect to get negotiated down to $300.

Also - you won't get much love for these on TW, put them on your local craigslist for local pickup.

If it turns out they're actually "Rugged Terrain" tires, I'd ask $450. And I'd push a little harder on getting negotiated down - someone who needs Rugged Terrains instead of Rugged Trails is more likely in a position to need to use their spare and might benefit from swapping it out.

Two cents, adjusted for inflation. Your mileage may vary.

I was able to get $525 or $550 ( I can't remember anymore) for 4 - 2015 TRD OR take offs with roughly 6k miles on them. However keep in mind I live in a highly densely populated area (SF Bay area) so there are more potential buyers.

I don't know why people think these Rugged trails are a bad tire? They are a street tire that you can use on fire roads and desert. These tires are perfect for 90% of TW members who use there truck as a DD and go "offroad", cheaper than All Terrains as well . I dunno I like the tire but I guess that's just me.

I did the absolute smartest possible thing, i had the Dealer remove all 5 Rugged Fails before I even took delivery of my truck and they gave me $800 trade value.

Was that with the rims as well? I can't see you getting a dealer to give you more than you can buy them for

No they gave me like $796 for all 5 tires and the new Yokohama's were about $1000 for all 5 and I also mailed in for a $60 or $70 rebate so I did OK.

Agree. They are just all season tires designed to look like all terrain tires. Poor winter traction, poor mud traction. They have very shallow treads. You are getting them because some one else doesn't want them. This is the worse so called off road tire that BFG makes. If I were allowed to say they sucked, I would say it.

Yeah its all good, I hate those tires with a passion and just had em swapped out. My Bill says $984 for the Yokohamas and $787 Trade in for the Rugged Fails.

You are right...but when you buy an off road vehicle, you want some thing just a tad better then a crappy all season tire.
