    That sounds like what should happen. If it's a public school, then they should definitely accommodate him, and I'm pretty sure they can't discriminate like that and not send a home tutor. You might be on to a lawsuit...

    Who is telling you this, the principal? What's their rationale?

    I'm 99% sure it's illegal for them to do that. My father is deaf and has unfortunately had to file quite a few ADA lawsuits and the process is just... ridiculous. It's clearly laid out in law but people choose to ignore it. However, a few times, people have been frightened over the prospect of a lawsuit.

    The message came from the school nurse after she discussed it with the principal. Cindy forwarded the emails to both the School Board President and the School Superintendant.
