That thing isn't even on the same level as a Tacoma no matter how you slice it. My son's Big Wheel has more ground clearance than that.

Is that your truck? If it is I would blur the license plate if real.

I almost bought an xterra before I bought my taco.

People in here are too stuck on that resell value. I bought mine to drive it, not to resell it. There are other nice vehicles out there too.

Yeah I don't resell cars. I buy them and drive them until the frame has rotted out from under to the point where the salvage guy tells me he's not touching that pile of shit. I think i will give one a test drive just for shiggles. I really like most of what I see in the 16 other than the price but I think that is going to come down anyway. I have an order in anyway might as well see it through.

I have a Nissan right now and at 138,000 miles, it's starting to take a shit. It's left me on the side of the road once. I won't ever buy a Nissan again. Their truck offerings don't interest me, either.

Time out. You all have to notice that the Ridgeline is off the charts because they sell SO MANY of those "trucks".:laugh::laughing::rofl:

The only thing I like about the frontier better is all 4 wheels are disc brakes and the fully boxed frame. Other than that the tacoma is much better.

The frontier, like all Nissan's, are rattle boxes. My ex had a loaded up one and there the plastic inside was constantly rattling. Then the paint on the a-pillar just started peeling off for no reason.

I'm gonna check out both trucks. I don't need a truck, but want one. If I'm the casual type owner - daily driver, no offroad, no towing, rarely haul anything, etc. would I even notice the differences between these two that you guys are mentioning? I mean I like the Taco more...but, I can't afford a Sport model just to have a manual trans v6. So that leaves me with a Frontier SV 4x4 V6 double cab MT for 27k msrp vs an SR Taco DCSB 4x4 V6 AT for 28k msrp. Never had a truck before let alone had extensive experience with one to be able to accurately compare them.

Haha! Very true. For that matter you could have left off the "that wants a truck" part.

There's a big difference in ride quality, and overall crappiness of interior finishes in the frontier

If you're just going to be using it to drive and not tow/haul/offroad then you'll likely want the more civilized of the two. The Tacoma is a brand new truck and more refined in every way over the nissan. Not to mention better mpg, reliability and resale value. The tacoma is a no brainer here.

All good points. I do like the Taco a lot better.

    1. My lease on my car is almost up - need something asap. Most are saying, unless ordered, it'll take a few months to get one.

    2. Have had about 14 cars in my 21 years of driving. Yeah, I got bored. Haha. 12 cars have been manual trans. Will an AT Taco be fun enough to drive? (Obviously no way of knowing though)

Agreed. If you compare the 3rd gen on paper to the 2nd gen Frontier then there is a big difference.

Between both second gens the differences are small and it should come down to individual preferences and a test drive.
