Hey guys, for our local trails (cleghorn, HV, Coral Canyon) would you recommend going with a lift first? or sliders first?

Yeah as said already, sliders. Although you probably won't need them on those trails, you just never know what will happen. Ive seen stock tacomas get through areas of those trails that should be lift and 4x4 and sliders required but they do just fine. Ask Lpheat22 he will tell you how much he wishes he had sliders.

 

Sounds good. Any recommendations? Would a kickout really be beneficial? I was thinking about getting some done by Glorifiedwelder, unless you have any other recommendations. Possible someone closer? Or a different person/company.

Ive gone through a couple of trails over at Cleghorn and HV a couple times (back when i had my '10 a few years ago) but I do plan on doing a lot more wheeling this time around

 

Kickout are worth it in my opinion. Ive seen @Airdog truck get saved with using kickouts in Cleghorn. As far as manufacturers, it doesn't really matter. Just get something that is proven and is made from DOM tubing at least.

 

Ok cool. I guess i have some researching to do. Any of you guys planning on doing a Cleghorn metope soon?

 

The socal guys are always having some sort of trail run at Cleghorn. Feel free to set something up if you have a specific day in mind.

 

Id be a little weary setting up a cleghorn run. Its been years since Ive been there. Lol

 

I would go with a lift first, but get a good one. Do it right the first time, or you'll spend more money doing a 2 times.

 

i agree with hiatt kick outs are worth there weight and gold.

yep all is good. House is all setup just need to find electrician company i am good to go.

The drive up there last week went really smooth, No hicups at all.

yea. The damn Pensake truck wore me out.

 

That probably wasn't too fun driving a big ass moving truck to Idaho.

 

yea i had to stop a couple of times cause you are always re-correcting the vehicle.

 

Ok, there has to be some off roading in azusa and glendora. I go to APU and cannot find any place to offroad (besides the Azusa canyon park) that is within an hour drive. Any suggestions? I just want to find some fire roads to rip around on. Thanks!

 

there is a fire road right next to azusa canyon, but you need a key from the forest service. Might be closed now due to that recent fire.

 

Lytle Creek isn't too far and that's always fun.
