The number of 2016s for sale is growing

Hope dealerships get a bunch in of different trim levels. I don't buy vehicles unseen or test driven.

Pics in other recent TW threads of semis loaded with 2016 Tacomas. Good stuff! I expect this time next month most large dealers should have them on lots.

 

I am glad the "third gen" Tacoma is starting to show up. My 2012 is modified about how I want it and I plan to hang on to it for another decade. The cool thing about the Tacoma is how many 1st gen ones I see around here (Arizona) that are still in really good shape. Kind of reassuring. They are all good trucks.

 

Surprisingly Our LA county fair is sponsored by Toyota and they don't have the Tacomaout for display. I asked the Toyota reps and they said next week they should be bringing it out for display and answer any questions....

 

Dang. We lived by the fairplex and have been to the fair too many times and are bored of it now. I wish we could go back to see it but a dealer closer will probably have some soon

 

Most of those posted actually show build dates, 9/2, 9/3, and 9/4. All the VINs people have posted here still havent showed up, but almost all of them were Mexico built. Its odd that most of the ones people have "pre-ordered" have been Mexico built, and most of the ones on Cars.com are Texas built. Assuming Texas built ones will be seen first.

How do you ensure that the Tacoma you build is made in Texas?

 

You can tell by the vin number. If it starts with a 5, it should be a US built Taco.

Just ask them to find one with a VIN that starts with 5. In a few months there should be plenty of inventory to pick and choose. There may be certain trucks only made at one plant though.

Does anyone know how many Taco's the Texas plant can manufacture vs the Baja plant puts out every working day? Just trying to get an idea for each location how many total Taco's can be made daily if the plant is at maximum capacity.

 

Wont really matter. Toyota sets production numbers and dosent deviate by flooding the market like the domestics do sometimes, part of how they keep high resale values for the brand.
