What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Hey! I work next to Boeing, I wonder if..... Naaahhhh....

 

Did an oil change yesterday....probably my last oil change on this truck, as I plan on replacing this truck within the next 6 months. 85% new tacoma. The husband wants me to look at the Canyon/Colorado also before making a final decision. I'm not impressed, but OK.... LOL

Took some time to un-install a couple things to prep for the frame replacment in October. PIAA lights & Aries bullbar.

My God Jan, is your husband delusional ?! Really, it's always good to look at the competition, especially when spending significant money. I looked at the twins at a car show when they first came out. I was not impressed and I was a Chevy guy for decades (yes I am that old). But it's always a matter of personal preference and who gives you the most bang for the buck. I'm anxious to see the new Tacoma in person. Good luck.

 

Can you just Google it? If that's not good, will a lot drive by count?

I had been following the hype with interest. When I finally saw one 'live' (in my dentist's parking lot) it was so huge I never gave it another thought.

 

How did you manage that? I had stopped by there once to see what kind of discount I could get and the only thing I "saved" was the shipping cost.

SO FAR....today, I've cleaned my mud flaps. Now they get a fair trial. I'm the lone juror. Trying to decide if they stay or if the find their way into "garage limbo"....with the flaps off my first 3 Tacoma's. I DO NOT like the looks of these things. Period. Then again, I like paint, ESPECIALLY when it's attached to my quarter panels. Maybe a coin toss?????

 

Even with the extra 40% off I would still buy Husky Xact Fits instead of Weathergaps

 

Can you explain your reasoning. Im about to purchase one or the other next paycheck

Lol ironicly i was already on that exact thread when i got the notification you had responded on this thread

 

I had the Weathergaps always had to take them out hit them with a heat gun to make the gaps go away. But they would come back. And they are slippery when you have wet feet. The nice rubber texture of the Husky's and NO GAPS ANYWHERE.

 

Put about 30 miles on the new suspension so far. Drives nice. No vibrations. Really nice ride with the short bed. A couple of quick pics on my test route. I'll take some better ones when it's detailed.

Thanks! The wheels really changed the whole look. I really like the offset. This is the best my truck has looked, and I've modded it a few times through the years. An older pic.

 

I love the red springs on the black and the super white tacomas. Regardless of brand
