Broken horn repairs must be done as soon as possible after the break. Most horns break and go down rather than up, therefore the repair must normally lift the horn back up to a normal symmetrical shape. Often the horn will not go back into the exact original place. It will not easily squeeze into the jagged edges and will need pressure.

For repairs you will need 3 items: a half dozen rolls of cast material, one ladies underwear (new or used but clean) and a rebar rod a little shorter than the total horn spread.

Place the broken horned critter carefully in a squeeze chute. Promptly attach a nose tong and tie its' head in a direction so it can not flop around and do more damage to the broken horn.

It will heal better if the horn is still attached with a seal of hide. If it is broken and dirty it becomes less likely that the repair will be successful. Go ahead and wash out the dirt and proceed.

Bend the rebar to the shape of the top side of the horn spread. (see ilustration below) Roll the soft undies in a ball and place them right on top of the pole. Place the rebar on top of the undies. Start wrapping the casting material around the good horn which will pull the rebar up above the bad horn. Put one full roll (rolls are about 4 foot long) around the rebar and good horn all the way from the head to the end of the rebar. The casting material will dry in a few minutes.

I'm assuming he can throw them back...I bet I could give him a run for his money

    image.jpg

I liked both of them, but it's too soon to tell. I think Lambert was too scared to pass too much in fear of being pulled out after a bad play; all his passes were short and only to folks who were uncovered. I'd like to see him throw some bombs.

Other than that, I think the team looked great. Although, I realized Nick Chubb will not win thew Heisman because the other backs are so damn good, it's going to significantly cut into his playing time, which results in his stats not being as high as they could be. That's not a terrible problem to have though lol #runningbacksfordays

    Also, this: 21-4...I'll take it

    Screen%20shot%202015-09-06%20at%209.38.4_edb9bc4fde2ac21a626a4eb15682f12e4359b5f8.jpg

    Over-hyped teams:

Oregon: I can't believe they let Eastern Washington put up 42 points on them. I'll be expecting them to lose to Michigan State (although, I think they're over-hyped, too) next weekend and USC. It'd be really awesome if my alma mater could beat them, too (Georgia State). Go Panthers!

    Standford.......lol

Auburn: Louisville almost snuck in and beat them, which would've been a pleasant upset in my book, although I HATE Todd Grantham. I bet they'll lose to Bama and (of course) the Dawgs this year.

Tennessee: their time in the top 25 will be short-lived. Go back to being the black sheep of the SEC with Kentucky. They'll lose to Oklahoma, Arkansas, Bama, UGA, and Mizzou.

    Arizona State......lol

Bama...not sure if they stink or if Wisconsin is that good lol. I think Wisconsin might be pretty good.

In defense of Oregon, EWU is said to have better receivers that 75% of D1 schools. Not to mention their oline has 212 games between them and the backup qb is no joke.

With that said, our DBs look like crap.

Absolutely. I actually read a case in class last week of something similar happening and the referee successfully sued the player for assault and battery

Little league baseball I believe. BS if you ask me. And it was the kids coach that sued him.

Over their last three games, the Horns have been outscored 117-20.

Texas has scored only 27 points over the last 16 quarters. That’s about 1.7 points per quarter.

Oregon posted 452 yards in the first half against Eastern Washington on Saturday. Texas has registered just 512 over its last three games.

In the same span, Texas is averaging 3.1 yards per offensive play.

    Unacceptable.

The only positive last night was #46 Malik Jefferson. Freshman that will be know before he's done.

You mean we had almost as many rushing yards in one game as you've had total in 3? Oregon ended the game with 485 rush yards

Anyone seen/heard anything else out of the Mike Williams situation from Clemson? Anything I have seen is still the same info as yesterday. Hope he is ok.

The one we read was about a hockey referee who ejected a player and the player knocked the puck out of the referee's hand while leaving the rink. Didn't even hurt the ref., but he was able to sue. Players relinquish their right to sue for injuries because it's an assumed risk of the game (unless it's something intentional...then, there may be a case), but since referees and umpires aren't part of the game, sometimes they can sue for getting injured, especially when it isn't accidental. The only thing I could see being an issue with the football kids targeting the referee is their age. Who knows, though.
