Honestly that's the only thing keeping me from looking at them. They're so ugly

I like the new 4runners. They've grown on me. I like that they actually look like an suv with their highish clearance front/rear bumpers.

Things crapped out in the Sound right now as far as blues and bass go. We fished mid-sound for scup and sea bass. I'll take 2 pound scup any day.

Anybody got a recommendation for a good Tacoma mechanic in the Greater Boston area?

I'm just about to purchase a '03 and would like an experienced eye to look it over for a PPI (Pre-purchase inspection). It has a brand new frame (1 month old) and 121k.

This sounds strange to me that a 03 1st gen was reframed a month ago. The dealers are swamped with frame swaps on second gens right now. That frame must be older than that.

    Hey Boston10Taco,

Looking at the CarFax and title paperwork, it looks like it was done by Topsham Toyota in Maine in either April or May of 2015. Any recommendations on a good Tacoma-wise mechanic around Boston?

Still replacing 01-04 frames as well as 04-06 tundras, and plenty of 05-08 Tacomas.

I'm in Peabody too, have tinted my last few cars and had no issues. I have always had good luck at 360 motor sports on abourn st in Salem. I haven't done the truck yet but plan to soon.

I guess they aren't called adventure bikes for nothing....
Amen... I never thought to dig that far into the wiring. Oh well, it's a simple machine, even if I have to completely rewire the bike, it won't take that long. All of the ignition wiring is untouched so none of the bike's vital wiring has been tampered with. It's just the lights and turn signals, the ones that scare me are the overrides of the clutch switch and kick stand but they're easy to redo.

That's the plan, will take a few minutes but worth it in the end. Now to find the time to mess with it...

Do you think there's any source online fora full OEM harness? That would be the easiest way to rebuild it, although it's probably not the most price effective route.

I might be able to find one but I don't want the expense. I have the full wiring diagram on hand and it's not overly extensive. I'll have it torn apart soon anyways so everything will be exposed (I'm going to clearance the valves so the tank and plastics will be off).
