Good tip. I live in California :/.
If there's an issue in the assembly line, do you guys do a fix on the fly, document it and issue a recall?

We note it and it keeps going down the line to the end and pull it over to another area a fix the problems. We don't issue recalls. That's up to people way higher than me. We just build them our cars get inspected at the end of the line. If it's a recall we just put parts on we don't know if there going to go bad.

I've seen some of your all quotes you all are paying way to much for a mid size truck. Might as well buy a tundra imo

You guys wouldn't believe how much it actually cost to build a car. Whatever the msrp Is it's almost 3 times under that.

Anyone receive any quotes for a basic SR DCSB 4x4 v6? I saw $28k or so msrp. I didn't even know if dealers tend to have more higher end models allocated to their dealership and SR models ordered as fleet vehicles.

What does this mean? in particular, what does "holdback" mean? if someone can illustrate with a numeric example (the numbers used in the example don't need to mean anything or be "real"; I just want to see the arithmetic of it) that would be appreciated

Pretty much but some people will pay that. I'm just going to get a base Trd sport with tow and floor mats and door sills. Msrp I think is 33,850 that's with the destination charge than I get 2500 off plus my 3% under invoice off of it for working at tmmc. Haven't been to dealer yet next year and if you wait you get a package discount to. Unlike the people who order them. Never order a vehicle. Buy it off the lot.

Invoice...what the dealer supposidly pays. Roughly 7.5 percent off of msrp...more margin on accessories of course. Hold back is 2 percent. Not anything real complicated. There are other incentives on top of that as well, so the dealership still makes a good chuck of change.

I agree....but the dealerships will only budge so much. Around invoice is the best I've seen thus far and I'd imagine that Toyota will not be willing to budge much on the 2016 tacomas....maybe a 1000 or sother additional discount....next summer.

This is based on my experience and what people have paid for their 2015s earlier this year. Msrp on the 2015 TRD OR is right around 34k...best deals I've seen on those is around 31k.

You are in a rather unique situation to where you can get additional discounts due to employment. If you would be so kind and willing to help me or any of us out....send me a message. ;)

Too wide. not by much but enough that the places I want to offroad a Tundra would get stuck between trees. Came really close to a deeply discounted 15 Tundra. Didn't mind the way it drove but my wife would be dangerous in one of those.

For Toyota, corporate sells them a vehicle at invoice, or below depending on their tier, and Toyota holds 2% of base msrp to play around with. At the end of the month, quarter, or some time block, Toyota cuts a check or payment to the dealer for all of their hold back. This allows dealers to cut money from msrp and know they will get 2% of the msrp back at the end of some time period. Toyota gets to play with the money for some time period and hopefully make money on it.

Toyota's hold back is 2% of base msrp on all vehicles

If people were wanting a Tundra that's what they'd buy. Those people buying an Audi A4, don't they know they could get a Tacoma for that price? Think of all the extra metal they would get for their money.

Toyota's holdback is 2% of the msrp. If you know the msrp and invoice prices. You can roughly figure out the price below invoice the holdback price is. They get other incentives on top of this. Things like advertising credits, volume bonuses and such.
