I know it's a 6 cyclinder and getting a nice sound out of one is damn near impossible, but I just did a 2.5" exhaust with a Flowmaster 40 after multiple video comparisons, (which sounded the best in my opinion) and I hate it. I feel like a butthole driving around just to make noise and annoy people. Anyone have a recommendation for something that sounds somewhat decent?

TRD sounds the best in my opinion.

    I bounce it offa stuff.
I've got an Aero 2525xl, which sounded great at any throttle position with the stock exhaust manifold. I installed Spec-U headers, and it sounds deeper at low rpms (see also: badass), but at WOT it sounds like a pissed off swarm of hornets with bronchitis.

I prefer magnaflow. 2.5" piping with magnaflow. A friend has a flowmaster. Too much noise for my liking.

Another vote for magnaflow. I really like mine. Dead quiet at speed, nice little rumble at idle, and roars pretty good at WOT.

Personally, it doesn't bother me that much. I live less than a mile from work now so I hardly put any miles on it anymore. I never "get on it" on pavement

A 14 or 18" round magnaflow, I when with a 18" round magnaflow with 2 1/2" exhaust, quite at cruise but you can hear it when your on it but not that loud....

But still sounds like a V6 cause that's what it is...

Here's a vid from the dunes, all different RPMs.....

I've got the TRD and the tone is nice. But it is on the louder side.....though I have had a couple of nice compliments on it.

Are you handholding your camera or is it mounted some sort of gimble?

best one i have heard is the TRD cat back.... but even then... meh.... About the only v6 i have heard that has a good exhaust note is the VR6 in the VW.... but all your classic style ~90* bank angle v6's like we got sound like absolute dog shit.

I'm scared to change my exhaust. I don't want to sound like a high school student with a Honda Civic.

Well said. I don't think I'll ever change mine due to this.
