    Hello everyone,
All ways had larger 3/4 ton trucks but when my wife wanted to go back to driving a car we traded my 2500 ram in and I ended up with her 15 tacoma dbl cab sb. After driving this for a few days I'm loving it. No intentions of going back to large truck. I am however looking for some feedback on installing a 6 inch lift. There's a lot of brands out there so any help would be appreciated.

Welcome Don. 6" lifts are really not the cup of tea on this forum, but BDS seems to be the majority favorite if you have to have a 6" lift.

Keep in mind, you'll need to modify your frame by cutting out/welding in a new cross member for a 6" DB lift. Are you okay in doing that? A 6" lift is a long term commitment.

Do a 3 inch Lift, that's what I had done on mine and I think looks great still

anything over 2 1/2 -3" is pointless unless you're building a rock crawler

3" is the way to go, unless you have to have 6". No additional ground clearance achieved by going 6" since you have to do a drop bracket for the 6". To each is own, it is your truck so tou get to do what YOU want. Lots of knowledge and experience here.

Thanks for all the input that's what I was looking for. And not planning on rock crawling or mud bogging at least for a while. So what brands of three inch lifts do you use and are they a good quality unit.

What is your budget on the lift, wheels and tires? And anything above 2.5 to 3 inches generally require new UCA's

Didn't really set a dollar amount for lift and tires because I didn't want to cheap out on it. That said I think I could handle around 2500. The truck has 265 bf goodrich on it now but if I understand it correctly any larger than that and have to go with aftermarket wheels for offset.

This is a good kit for the money, had great experience with Headstrong, Wheelers and many other vendors can do it for you as well. Would add UCAs if above 2.5". I think the 887 coils get you about 3", 885s, get about 2.5", 886's would be for if you have extra weight upfront like a bumper or winch.

Been a lot of posts on here lately about front end clunk with the OME, good stuff don't know if there is an issue with the kit. Also there is a fitment issue with the rear shocks on the new 2015's as stated by OME

True, good stuff, totally slipped my mind. I ended up getting bilstein 5100's front and rear, paired with 885 coils in front, and an AAL out back. Also added LR UCAs up front.

Diff Breather OME full lift kit with 886 coils and dakars sway bar removed 31.5" LED light bar from CaliRaisedLED
There's been some issues with the OME lifts in the front? Is that just cause of the body mount bushings? I was looking at a full 2.5" lift for my Taco from OME but if there's an issue maybe I'll just get the leaf spring set from OME and get Billies 5100's all around and a set of UCA's from icon (if there's another company that make UCA's that are just as good let me know). Also a set of 885 or 886 springs of course.

No issues. The OME struts make a clanging noise over bumps..

Rear shocks, on the other hand - OME shocks won't work on some 2015s because the bottom shock mount is different. You can get other shocks, or you can grind about 1/8" (so we're seeing) off of the shock mount to gain the clearance needed.

ICON all the way, maybe Fox or King shocks/coilovers and rears. OME rear leaf pack, and UCA's. This is the way to go for a nice ride for everyday driving and occasional off road.
