    Hi everyone,

I was hoping to see if anyone has experienced or knows the cure to this issue. When idling or initially accelerating I got this annoying dinging sound coming from below. Well after about a month of it progressively getting louder I decided to take a look. No check engine lights or other dash gauges on BTW. What I discovered you can see in the pictures. When I pushed up and down on the pipe there was play in the mesh of the two surfaces the spring and bold are supposed to hold together. There is also evidence of exhaust leak by the black residue, but the O2 sensors are all forward of it so the leak itsnt gonna trip them until a smog check...I removed the bolts, checked the pipes, everything solid, and put the bolts back on to spec and there is still play/gap between the surfaces. Is this a manufacturer error anyone has seen? If the pictures aren't in the thread they should be shown as attachments.

    Thx

There is a gasket at the joint. Might need a new gasket.

Got a part number for that?

I'll be picking up and installing a TRD exhaust tomorrow and forgot about replacing the gasket.

This is a walker part number. This came with the my dynomax system. I reused the original gasket and kept this as a spare. Here is the back of the package showing part no 31639.

Weird how it became an issue a month ago and I've had it for a year. You'd think with no gasket that it would have made the noises earlier, if not right off the bat... Alright well thanks. I'll see if autozone or whatnot has it.

Same noise here after rerouting the exhaust. I'm gonna take a peak under soon, I may need a gasket too.

    Hrmmm...

I might just reuse my gasket. I was under the impression you needed to replace with a new one.
