The wheel chocks taper from about 3.5" to 4.5".
When the bike is tied down, the front wheel should stay "wedged" in the chock.
What is the width of your front tire?

The front tires are typically at their largest about 120mm (4.7 in.) on the bikes I haul. I have one that's 110mm.

Sounds like it should work. Do you have any in stock? I'm in Burbank and will be transporting bikes not too far from you tomorrow. Is it possible to stop by and pick up a bar then?

I just want to say what a great guy Jesse is. Because of a communication snafu, he waited in a parking lot for over 45 minutes last night so that I could pick up a tie-down bar to use for hauling three bikes today. Instead of being peeved with me, we had a great conversation about bikes and our trucks (and I've only owned mine since Sunday). I told him that I'd post some pictures of the bar once I had the bikes loaded. So, here they are. The Suzuki V-Strom has a 19 in. 110 series tire, and it fit perfectly. The SYM scooter had a 15 in. wheel, so I had to use a high-tech chock to keep the pointy front fender from scraping on the bar. On the way back, I hauled a Triumph Tiger 800 XRX, another bike with a 19 in. 100 on it. I'll post pictures the next time I load up a sporty bike with a 17 in. 120 tire.

I'm really digging this tie-down bar. Well worth the money.

    I have three left.
Next run will not be for at least 2 months due to relocating my shop / busy work schedule.

Installed this a couple months ago but just finally got to use it for the first time... ROCK SOLID!
Finally have confidence that my bike is secure... Doesn't wiggle an inch, or even half inch for that matter! And had to take some pretty bumpy roads...

    Thanks Jesse!

Anyone use a tonneau cover with this? Any issues? I need to buy a tonneau cover and I'm hoping there's some out there that will work with the tie down bar installed.

i load my little bike very similiar. i am interested in one of these bars, but i would have to cut out one of the tie down/wheel chocks out, then have to re-powdercoat. my front tire lines up with the 5th full size slot from the outside on the front of the bed.

would you sell one uncoated, so i can move the chocks around?

The outer "wheel slots" line up with the 3rd rib of the bed - these are the wheel slots used when transporting two bikes.
So this might work for you.
Regarding an un-coated bar, please send me an email at info@tacomatruckparts.com

I have a few ready to ship before I send out a new batch for powder coating.

    Just ordered one!

I tried adding the D-Clips to my 2005 as others have done, but the angle of the tie down cable was almost straight up and down. I am hoping that by raising the tie down points I get a bit more stability.

Related question: Has anyone who has tried multiple fork braces have a recommendation?

UPDATE: Delivered! That was fast, can't wait to clean the dirt out of my bed and install it.

This info might help when transporting 2 bikes. With one bike, strap angle is not an issue.

    Thank you for your purchase!

UPDATE: A new batch of Motor Cycle Tie-Down Bars should back from powder coating any day.
I will also be introducing a Hybrid Motor Cycle Tie-Down Bar / Hi-Lift Jack mount.
All new MC Tie-Down bars will come with an Epoxy powder coat primer in addition to the matte black texture powder coat for increased corrosion resistance; This along with increases in shipping costs resulted in a slightly higher price - $240.00 + FREE S&H
