    Ok got it. Not so much on the bear hunting, but there are some wicked ass trails up there that will be muddy after the rains= dirty fun

    I never saw any bears in the hancock area but have seen a few entering from the Goldbar side up until the gate. They have now closed the entrance from Goldbar :( I used to go up there all the time.

    What fs RD was that? Like 60 something? The whole entrance of highway 2? Or just the Hancock part? We used to see lots of bears, if not, at least lots of scrapes and scat in the road.

    FS 62 off of hwy 2. They had a red gate at the entrance for a long time but it was always open. They closed it last January and I haven't seen it open since. There was a really nice lake to go camp at back there
