What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Looks good, you end up welding the brackets in like I did or just pound and drill.

 

Ended up swapping the rails over. I didn't want to drill more holes.

Very happy with the final product.

 

What year seats swap over again?

Hey gents know that the engine is out I'm going to clean up my engine compartment and paint it. Any one know where I can find the grey paint that is used in there. I'll do some google searching but just wondering if any one here knows.

 

Just flat black it.......

I considered that but I like working on my truck and with the black inside I might loose a tool in there. I like the contrast of the grey and parts. Maybe any engine bay grey would be fine I guess.

 

Cleaned the mud out of my starter and flushed the power steering reservoir. I tried to fix my whine but it's still pretty loud.

 

Just the resovoir or the whole system. I jacked the front and turned wheels lock to lock with the return line off until clean fluid flowed. A bit of hose and a bolt to plug the nipple on the resovoir.

 

Is the general consensus that Light Racing uca's are junk? I thought I read somewhere that they changed something in the design but never heard of it fixed the issue.

I need new bushings in my driver side uca but I beat the crap out of it trying to break the bj loose a month or so ago and it might be causing alignment issues. Might just go with a cheap rock auto part then replace it as soon as possible.

 

Just the reservoir. Heard the screens inside could get blocked which would cause it to not flow as well.

 

They have changed the design a little bit. I've had mine for over 2 years and I haven't had any issues. Oz-T has had them for over 4 years and hasn't had any problems. I don't pound on mine and they work great for fixing the alignment issues on a lifted truck.

 

Frame all cleaned and painted from the cab back. Waiting on shocks and springs.

 

Check your tensioner pulley, I replaced my PS fluid and cleaned the reservoir. Damn belt snapped because the pulley was seized

 

Are you going to add some frame reinforcement plates? Shock relocate? So much easier for both if the bed is off.

Yep. Got the Total Chaos shock relocate coming.



It puts the shock outboard of the leafs and requires 1.25" spacers like they show here.

 

Thats what im gonna do to my double cab.

 

Pulley still spins freely. Rack is also relatively new as well. I'll probably replace the pump eventually.

Let me know how you like it. Was thinking about going this route too.
