Just dropped my camper top off at the paint shop... Should be ready in a couple days!

That's what I'm hoping. Several good coats of Rustoleum primer and 2 coats of bedliner should seal them up nicely unless I rub some rocks on the bottom and scratch it off.

You'll have to cut the outside part off so it fits in the cup holder. I snuck one into my wife's SUV since I only used 1 in my truck. lol. She got a kick out of it when she found it later.

pretty sure that even with it on the rail it was still messing up the metal bed sides...there is a thread that showed all the damage somewhere on here.

Had my fenders & bumpers painted and installed the TRD front skid plate !

 

Drove it by some dude mowing a lawn. I suspect a rock shot from under his mower something.

So far the best quote i've received is from a shop 100 miles away ($299+$60 to install and 2 weeks to order), but I have to go there in person and pay a deposit. They wont take CC number over the phone. And both local Leer dealers quoted $400+$95 installation.

Shouldn't that person's insurance cover it? Homeowners if the owner was mowing his own lawn, commercial liability if it was a business.

 

It was a busy road in an industrial area. But there is no way for me to prove that it was, indeed, caused by the guy mowing the lawn. I was going around 35-40 mph, saw the guy mowing the lawn and immediately heard sound of glass raining in the pavement. Looked into the rear view mirror and saw a bunch of sparkles on the road and thought to myself "wtf is this dude mowing?". Only after that I realized that those were pieces of my tempered glass.

EDIT: Quick Google search shows that exploding topper windows are not really uncommon, and happen to both, Leer and SnugTop.

 

Bummer.

My friend's S-10 topper back window shattered once. We bought a piece of plexiglass from home depot, they cut it down to roughly the size, and I dremeled it to fit. It wasn't hard fitting it into the rubber stripping. Cheap man's method I think it was 23 for the plexi.

 

Bummer. Reminds me of the lawn mower scene from "Final Destination." Glad that didn't happen.
