Yeah don't count on seeing any incentives on the Tacoma. You only need incentives when you are over producing units. Factories have huge fixed costs so running at under 100% utilization costs more and more the less you produce. One way to combat this is to offer factory cash back to move more units. You have a smaller (possibly negative) margin per unit but still better than idling a factory. Layoffs are a last resort.

The Tacoma in particular is already at full capacity and they have a lot of ways to reduce capacity while still being at full utilization. For one, they'll just cut overtime. They also can shift production to the Tundra, which is built on the same line at the texas factory. Another option is to offer a wider variety of configurations to reach a broader market. For example they could theoretically bring back the 5 lug without a lot of retooling drama. More likely they'd focus on the other end and build more TRD-pro configs or platinum-limited or various special edition limited runs.

I don't think the midsize market is big enough to endure a price war. Anyone that offers incentives will be shooting themselves in the foot. They'll move more trucks now but they'll be unable to cover their own R&D budget and be out classed when the competition does a refresh. You're not going to take money from a profitable model line to pay for an unprofitable one. Its a bit more forgiving in the full size market because they move a lot more trucks and those fuckers are luxury vehicles with absurd margins. If they take a play from old GM, they'll also nickle and dime their suppliers to reduce costs which will cause quality issues and the whole endeavor dies in the water.

Here is a picture of all three SR5 interiors. This is from a brochure. According to the brochure, the Cement gray interior is standard on the SR, one of 3 options on the SR5. Here it is bottom left.

Love those wheels. How much are they going to squeeze out of me for those?

The graphite are rare and came on the BAJAs. The black version on the pros can easily be attained for under $1000 for all 4.

Looks like the black ones can be bought from trd shop for $229. Probably find them cheaper elsewhere.

Thanks a lot Tpak. I was hoping to get a view of the hood scoop, but this is better than nothing  I don't see how anyone thinks these new Taco's are ugly.. I think Toyota did a damn good job on the new design; Inside and out! Can't wait to get mine!!!

Anybody in the northeast order an Offroad with a 6 speed and have a build/delivery date yet? I heard the northeast wasn't allocated any but some people have said they were able to allocate them and "steal" them off of other dealers in other parts of the country. Ordered mine two weeks ago but no build date yet. They just told me delivery should be in 6-8 weeks from the time of order

I was quoted a build date of Sept 30 with delivery by end of October at the latest, they think 2 weeks is more likely.
    I'm in Pennsylvania.

Hopefully the same for me, but being a 6 speed and inferno puts it in a super minority of total Tacomas made

Are the mud flaps now optional so that Toyota could get better mpg estimates?

My build date is 10/20 but I added tech package. What color did you get?
