What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Adjusted my steering rack guide and got rid of phantom clunk.

 

Did that awhile back, had quite a bit of play in the driver side wheel.

 

Oh yeah, that 18ft-lbs and getting set correct made a great difference in the driving of the truck.

 

I've had LR UCAs since January and put them through some pretty taxing trails. Have no complaints. Great product at a great price.

 

So you tightened to 18ft/lbs and backed off how much? It's like 20degs or something. I just kept loosing off until I didn't feel it drag in the steering wheel.

To an extent sure. Anything that's not TC has had at least one issue which can be seen in various threads.

I need some badly..my driver side arm? (I don't know what its called) that the upper ball joint sits on hits my coil

 

You still have stock UCAs, correct?

I can only speak for myself when I say they are a good product, but that thread will give you some insight.

I think you are talking about the spindle.

So I guess it's just called the knuckle. Well anyway the top of the knuckle where the upper ball joint under the upper control arm sits is what is hitting/rubbing my coil spring.

 

Knuckle or spindle, both are correct. We like to use knuckle to describe the lower part where the bearing assy. is.
