Saw new Tacomas at plant tour

There already is. The pics have been posted and dealers have said trucks are in transit.

 

They don't go to the dealers right away, they go to the regional yards. From the regional yards they go to the dealers. That takes a wee bit longer than 24 hours.

But yeah, the first few should start showing up any moment now.

 

I find the part in bold very comforting. Especially on a new engine.

 

I wish like my 4Runner that all Tacomas would be made in Japan.

 

Is it really necessary? Guys on these here forums are getting 300k+ on their Tacomas made right here in North America. Keep the work in America!

 

Parts catalog also shows painted rear bumper for Limited.

Yes, it does matter. Better quality control in Japan. That's it. I'm all for keeping jobs in America but Japan produces better vehicles. Why does Lexus keep getting the top ratings in car brand reliability? Oh that's right... All their cars except the RX are made in Japan.

 

I agree but why does the Tacoma have the best resale value of any vehicle? Because it's bad ass. Well really because it's reliable. And guess where it's made? Right here.

 

I imagine Toyota ensures that the production process in both countries adheres to the same standards. As much as possible at least.

Heck, Wrangler is one of the most unreliable new cars on the road, yet its second on the list. It's because it has a big fan base. People want 'em

 

There is an engine-transmission plant here in WV, but it does not make engines for trucks:

This is true, also. No argument there. The truck is as good as the people making them and the Tacoma is faring just well.

 

Word. I'll buy that. I didn't realize it was so heavily weighted towards SUVs and trucks. Kinda crazy considering how gas prices are just now coming down.

 

The 1gr I believe was made in Alabama and the 2gr in West Virgina.

 

Wranglers unreliable???? Is that before or after they do the Rubicon Trail? I've owned 3 JK's (two 08's and one 14). Not one issue between the 3. The Grand Cherokee on the other hand is a different story.

 

AWNC in Durham NC makes most if not all RWD Toyota automatic transmissions for US spec vehicles, and many of the FWD auto transmissions ( Camry/Avalon/Lexus)

 

Any car can be reliable if you take care of it. That being said, some cars are more reliable than others. Can't argue with your first-hand experience with your Wranglers, but some owners think like you and some don't. Thanks Kendrickdlr. I was part of some of those forums and like most, it's a small group where problems are intensified. Take this one for instance, I shouldn't get a 16 because of those damn drum brakes and ugly grill(which is about an inch bigger than the Gen 2 ones). LOL

 

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the Limited come with Rear Cross Traffic Sensors or something that also include the color matched bumper?
