I have a 1998 Tacoma 2.4L that I've had since 2000. I got it back from the paint shop the other day and when I get out of the truck I can smell fuel from under the hood. Never smelled it before. What are the possible places it can leak fuel from under the hood?

I don't think it's coming from the charcoal canister. Gas mileage has seemed to decrease since I noticed the smell.

if you don't see gas anywhere then smell your oil, it might be a leaking injector and if so it will get into your oil and ruin it

Well I smelled my oil and it defiantly smells of fuel. So that's a for sure sign of leaking injectors?

Well, yes. Theres no other way for unburt fuel to get in there...

Edit** if you had a dead cylinder I suppose fuel would gei into the oil that way as well but you'd have an obvious problem and CEL would be on...

Though I'd give an update. I finally replaced all 4 injectors last Saturday. Fuel smell is gone and the truck is running much better. I got OEM injectors from http://www.fiveomotorsport.com at a great price, much better than the employee price I would of got if I still worked at the dealer. I also replaced the fuel filter (what a PITA) and fixed a handful of other things that requires attention.
