    Icon coil overs, about 2.5" (maybe slightly more) of lift in front, and icon aal out back 1.5" with overload removed on a 3 leaf pack. The wheels are 16x8 with 0 offset. They are just slightly outside of the fenders, but zero rubbing on the cab mount. Only a small piece of inner fender plastic needed to be cut. 8" is the widest wheel you can put this size on, they had a hard time seating the bead.

    Is anyone else running 16x8? What is the lowest psi you felt comfortable running? I'm worried about popping a bead on the trail.

    Run any PSI. I have the stock steelies, on one occasion, while aired down to 12 psi, I flipped my truck on its side. I thought winching it back up was going to de-bead a tire for sure but it didn't.

    If you keep the majority of your tires on the ground you won't de-bead unless you get real low in the single digits.

    I still have my stocker standard rims and tires of a 2012 TRD OR. I am assuming they are 7", at least that is what the specs say. So I should be in good shape. Also I have more of a rear stance, with the rear at 3" including an AAL, but my front is at 2" lift. I am thinking the 33's should stuff in ok without any additional mods. I can handle a fender rub myself.
    Thanks for the info. Hopefully I can get these things next week. I'm 99% sure I'm gonna go with the BFG's.

    They are not really noisy. I thought they would be louder, but I've had louder tires on my cars than these.

    Edit: They are a little noisy on the highway, but not too bad.

    I'm still running the 265/70/17 tires that I had installed pre-lift. I guess I'm lifted about 2 1/2". They didn't look too bad when I had stock bumpers (see my sig pic).

    Just a heads up for anyone looking to get the Cooper ST Maxx in a 255, Just tried to get these ordered up today and my local Discount said they are on back order. Apparently Cooper stopped production on them and isnt starting to produce them again for 6 more weeks. I ended up getting a 235-85-16 in the ST Maxx instead.

    Currently looking at the Cooper ST Max or Maxis Big Horn in the 255x85x16. How do they handle on the highway? Any slop (rolling) of the sidewalls on turns during normal driving or highway driving? During my work in the jungles of Malaysia all of the Toyota Hilux's that we drove always had tall skinny's. They just work better in the mud rarely saw anyone stuck in that muck. Can't say much about sand. Also curious as to how they perform on hard packed snow. Your comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    How's the noise, they are an awesome tire. My son loves them, but runs 285's on his Gen one.

    I currently have 265x75x16 Cooper STT's. Best tire I have ever run, very durable, very noisy. Thanks. Nice build report on your truck too.

    The LT255/85r16 has been on national backorder since March. I've been in contact with them since April, and my set is supposed to be here at the end of the week, or next week. They started production on them last Monday, 8/31, and they are producing them in this size until the stocks are replenished. Originally they were supposed to start production August 17, but it didn't happen.

    That's good to know, I'm leaning towards the coopers very heavily. I want a quieter tire than the STT, but still want the same tuff sidewall. Discount tires said that they can have them here in three days. Thanks.

    I'm about to order my 255's, and just want to double check, do I need to worry about or advise my installer of any off-set adjustments? I am still running my stock wheels 16" x

    I am still running the stock OR wheels and I have a little rubbing on my UCA. If anything I would install 1" wheel spacers. But without wheel spacers you still won't have any issues besides a small amount of rubbing.

    This is FALSE. I ordered 255/85/16 ST Maxx at the end of March or beginning of April and my DT had them the next week.


    No sidewall rolling on highway from the MAXX, doesn't start sounding like a mud tire until you are going 40+mph around a significant turn on pavement. No chunking to date (except from some tire rub which is my fault for not preventing!)

    You are absolutely right about tall skinny tires, they're the best far all conditions but very loose sand/snow that is deep enough to cover your axles. As for hard snow and ice they are exceptional. Also great on wet pavement.

    Do they have the correct hub centric fitting or do they use the silly cone adapter thing? I usually just bring my tires to my local toyota to mount. They charge $20/tire to mount and balance. Might be a little more but always seems to balance well since they have the proper equipment for the hubcentric toyota wheels.

    Toyota wheels are hub centric. Most other wheels are lug centric. There's a specific adapter to be used on the balancing machines with hub centric wheels that most places don't have. Instead they use a universal adapter thing that generally has mixed results with hub centric wheels

    If you have aftermarket wheels they are probably lug centric which is the standard most balancing machines are set up for.
