New shoes on the wifes soccer mom mobile today. Cooper at/w in stock 5th gen t4r size. Pretty decent looking tire, especially for a not too aggressive AT.

Serious Siping. I'll be interested to see how they'll wear.

Me too, I have had poor luck with Cooper lately, haven't gone back to them.

I loved the Discoverer ST's I had on a Grand Cherokee back in the day. Great traction, they wore like iron, and they were made in the USA, but they had almost doubled in price when it was time to replace them so I went with General Grabber AT2's instead (which also had great traction but wore like shit).

I always ran Coopers through high school and college, so did my old man. The last 3 or 4 sets we owned between the 2 of us we had issues with. They wore uneven, got loud as they aged and I had a set completely crap out to the point Cooper had to warranty them. Traction-wise, they were great, just had a lot of other issues.

That's fair. It's also been nearly 10 years since I bought a set of Coopers. A lot can change in that amount of time, in terms of quality.

Same. Hopefully they last a while. We were able to get 60k out of the stock dungflops. Iirc siping is supposed to increase treadlife by helping to dissipate heat.

They have a 50k mile treadwear warranty, I'd be happy with 40k out of them. I had them put on yesterday morning. So far they ride nice and smooth.

Hopefully since these are pretty much an updated at3 they'll have worked out whatever kinks they had before.

    What coopers have you issues?

The ATR, the AT3 and the H/T. The AT3 replaced the ATR. Your new tires look a lot more like the older ATR tires, which I loved but were the ones that had to be warrantied by Cooper. They split about 1" up from the wheel, all the around, all 4 tires. The cracks in the rubber were deep enough that Cooper prorated the tire and gave me a credit to get new tires. That's how I ended up with the AT3. The AT3s I had would not wear even, I had some pretty serious cupping going on that I couldn't get evened out. I finally took them off the truck and my dad ran them 2 at a time on the back of his work truck where the cupping wasn't as much of an issue. They still wore funny but not as noticable on the rear of a pickup. My dad had a set of ATRs and H/Ts. His ATRs wore fine but got really loud as they aged so he went with H/Ts to replace them. He could not keep the H/Ts balanced to save his life and he's really easy on his trucks, does a lot of highway driving.

Out of the lot, in my opinion the ATR's were the best performing tire. Those tires would go through anything it seemed. Hopefully you have good luck with yours. It seems I'm definitely in the minority with having bad luck with Cooper from reading reviews on here.

Interesting, I'll keep an eye out for cupping. Thanks.

@Boston10Taco what size tires are you running on your DR? I can't find stock size anywhere, the ones that are on there now aren't stock. I ended up getting the Michelin T63 rear, I have a Kenda Big Block on the front that has way too much tread to toss so hopefully they pair up well.

My FIL had Cooper H/T's on his S10 and loved them. I think he had them for 4 or 5 years before his truck caught on fire

Did you say his S10 or his Jeep? Sorry, the 'caught on fire' part got me confused
