What could happen if you dont oil an oiled filter? I dont even know why there suppose to be oiled its just a air filter why does it need oil? i ask cause i have the AFE stage 2 intake and i have not oiled it since i bought it, even though i havent had it buy for maybe 2-3 months. And its not dirty i blow it out with a compressor. But im buying a dry filter for it soon.

    Tornado intake, Duralube, Fartcan.
the oil helps to catch & hold fine dirt particles.

The filter material isn't as 'fine' to catch the smaller dust particles - and why they need to be oiled.

it should come pre- oiled and blowing it out is a HUGE no no! oiling is a must! I use a spray pump from Wally World.

Yeah...2-3 months isn't a big deal. It will need oil (or to be changed toa dry flow fliter) at some point tho.

And I second the not using a compressor...Brush it out and that's about it.

I know that in dirtbikes, the foam filter itself does not catch any dust particles, and without the oil, it is useless.

DO NOT oil the filter with anything besides whatever was specifically made for it.

My idiot retard friend decided to cut corners on his POS ricer civic and use No-Toil foam air filter oil on it and ruined his entire intake/exhaust system - MAF, idle air, O2 sensors, the works.

Send your oil in for an analysis, and see if it comes back with high iron (cylinder wall wear) and silica (dirt) levels.
