Tell me about it... Ten years ago we might see 80 once or twice during the summer... NOW it hits 90-100 for a solid week several times, and is above 80 the rest of the time.

Just 2 weeks ago we had lows in the 30-40s and a couple frost warnings. Now it's 89 and rising. Damn NY weather.

While I can't say I see more sailboats there are fewer powerboats cruising around. The fishermen are still out there and there have been a lot of striped bass taken in my area but I don't see many people out there just burning fuel.

I've actually run out of things to look for on the internet. This may just force me to get some work done today.

Never happens at home. I can always find something of interest on the internet when I'm not at work. ;)

    Race night again!

We are in the tail end of a heat wave and there's a pretty good chance of evening thunder showers. That throws an interesting twist into the race depending on exactly where you are when it happens.

The normal race committee decided to take the night off because the heat index was supposed to be 105. As a result Black Widow served as committee boat and I didn't race. I did sit on the deck at the yacht club in a surprizingly cool breeze and provided play by play for some of powerboaters who knew nothing about sailing but were interested.

    I bet you are now!

    I almost pity powerboat owners...almost.

Grace has been sitting dormant in the water for months now. I really need to fix her.
