I ordered a 2016 a few weeks ago, but not for the looks. I just hope it maintains the generally decent quality that Tacomas are known for. I'm more or less indifferent to styling differences, though I do think that double cabs look slightly ridiculous regardless of who makes them. To me, double cabs look like somebody decided to make a car, but then changed their mind halfway through construction. Beyond that vague impression, styling isn't what I care about.

By the way, one thing I failed to mention which IS pretty cool is the black headliner. Seats, dash and headliner were all dark and the interior, in my opinion was well executed.

My biggest complaint about my truck is the dark dash / doors.... it makes the interior so much hotter.... next time, another light truck (light silver or white) and light grey interior.

Yup, I think everyone had this experience. Looks good from the back but that face makes you run the other direction.

If you've never once had this happen to you, and you did not run, then I have to question your taste in women. ;)

Not hating but I have to agree with all the people on here saying that 12-15 was the pinnacle. Actually, I would have to say the pre Tacoma Toyota Pickup was the pinnacle, with the 12-15 being the next best thing. The styling is okay but as others have said, the truck has lost it's DNA. It looks too Rav 4 like, and Atkinson cycle... Really? Should have been Diesel cycle. It's a truck. I think the styling can probably be greatly improved with some better tires, better offset wheels (better looking in general for that matter) and getting rid of that God awful grill, but one thing that cant be fixed is that pussified engine. I love the interior, they definitely got that right. The round AC vents remind me of an old FJ or other old Toyota.

The saving grace for this truck would be a V8 of some kind that's putting down around 350 HP and 350 ft/lbs of torque, and an actual truck engine at that. They could offer the V6 to appeal to the eco weenies and meet CAFE requirements and then offer the V8 for people who actually want a truck. But I don't foresee that happening. Why would anyone buy that land yacht of a truck they call the Tundra when you could buy a Taco with the V8.

Cmon man... the tacoma is not a Tundra and it never will be, V8 is a pipe dream. Emissions requirements are getting more and more strict and it will not stop. More efficient engines are the future, plain and simple. I'm coming from the sports car world where I am a huge fan of big displacement naturally aspirated engines but it's the same story over there. Forced induction WILL replace displacement. It's already happening and it's not gonna stop. The thought that smaller more efficient engines that produce the same or better power are "pussified" is childish.

The new taco engine is not forced induction. Has they given us something similar to the 3.5L ecoboost, that would in fact not be pussified. Why can't Toyota give us a 3.5L Tacoboost?
