I just stopped in to grab a brochure on the outside chance that they may have a TRD 16 Tacoma for me to look at, and low and behold, sitting inside the showroom was a 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport, DCLB 4x4 w/v6, prem/tech w/JBL, and tow pkg!

After reading the all the negative reviews on the looks of the sport spotted in San Diego this morning, I was very curious to have a look for myself. All I can say is, that, yes I agree that the giant chrome front grille is a bit overbearing initially, but after taking it in for a min. or two, I kinda actually like it! The photos on the San Diego thread also seem to have a bit of fisheye to the view and possibly throw it a little out of proportion.

It took all the will power I have in me to not drive that sport home today (Yes, I did ask and they were ready and willing to sell it today 9/9), but I have to hold out and wait for the TRD Off Road, which should be in soon.

I spoke with EZ (Salesman) and he was really chill, had lots of knowledge about the 16 tacomas, and most importantly, let on that they would be willing to deal on price, as I had mentioned that many guys on here were setting up deals for 500 over invoice, and he mentioned that he may not be able to go quite that low, but possibly in that ballpark.

This truck was available as of 6:45pm when I left, so, if you are looking for that truck, (I know lots of guys are!) GO GRAB IT TONIGHT!!

    Brian

That's good news. I was afraid that we Canadians would have to wait a few weeks before we see the first one north of the border.

Regardless of my opinion of each specific detail, I think that over all it's a pretty sharp truck.

Me Personally, I prefer the SB (for my purposes) but I think it looks great in white!

Another thing though, I can't stand how the front license plates look, they throw off the whole look on vehicles! luckily in my state they are not required, yet...

It is crazy long. There is a big ass void between the radiator/condenser and the grill.

Might be the picture because I just went outside and looked at mine that picture there looks ok. I think it was the one picture looking the length of it optical illusion mine looks like it. But I do think it's a few inches longer like the bottom bumper.
