35% is the legal limit and the 44% will meter at 38%, so the 38% will meter a little under 35%. Technically, putting on 38% is legal on paper but the factory windows are slightly tinted and that throws the reading off

This is correct. I found out when I failed that even putting 35% on you can fail. Most factory glass has about 3% to protect against UV fading interior materials. So if they measure you with 35% on it will likely measure in at 32%.

I'm not worried about inspection stickers, I just don't want to be harassed and get a moving violation for tint.

My truck is a rolling failed inspection. Illegal tint, no front plate, no cats, misaligned headlights, etc.... And the best part is, the local cops can't ticket me on any of it

You're in NY, careful they might attempt to shoot you when you do get pulled over. Good news is, apparently they have a 1 in 84 hit rate.

Downstate, yes, upstate those boys know how to shoot. Coincidentally, they are also the ones against the SAFE act...
    I'd guess Mass plates.

I still have the original iphone (even though I am am android user now) unlimited data plan. $30/ mo on ATT. Every time I go to get a new phone they try to tell me I need to switch to a new plan. And I kindly tell them that's a load of bull and I'll be keeping my plan. Then the manager gets called over and it's "the last time" I'll be able to do it. But contractually they can't do jack, I've got my plan and have it for as long as I'm on ATT unless I choose a different plan.

Lucky bastard! I had an unlimited plan with Verizon until I added a family members phone onto our plan, friggin ruined a good thing. On the hunt currently for a new carrier, supposedly Verizon is uping their prices again when my current contract comes to an end in a few months.

I'm doing the same thing. Mines up soon and I was having some problems with our phones. They all suck right now though. I might just by new phone and not sign any contract like what it sounds like Seth is doing

I've done it both ways. Bought a new phone off Amazon and activated it, and renewed a 2yr contract. When I got my current phone I was able to just renew my contract again and pay $200 for the phone. Didn't want to drop like $800 on it (galaxy note 3). Like I said they always try to push the new plans, but I just tell them no thanks I'll keep my current one and pay the $200 up front instead of the $20/mo for the phone that they all seem to be doing now. They always tell me first that I need to switch plans, then they switch to let me see what I can do, then finally its o ya you can keep your current plan if you buy a new phone/ or pay$200 up front with new 2yr contract.

I have been with Verizon for 12 years or so now (since I got my first cellphone) and I am beginning to look elsewhere too. Their prices are becoming ridiculous compared to other carriers, but I have noticed that my coverage is great. Not sure what is more important to me at this time.

Been with Att since 2007. The only time my rate had changed is when I added more minutes(still have the old xx minutes + rollover unused minutes plan). Otherwise it's stayed the same. My company gets a discount with both verizon and att. I think 15% with vzw and 13% with att. I looked about a year ago at switching to vzw just cause we have fios at the house and to keep everything on one bill. Even with the 15% discount and bundling with tv/internet/home phone it was still going to be more than staying with att. For my wife and I iirc it's like $140/ mo for I think 1200 minutes/rollover(w/free calls to other att customers) and unlimited data.

The other thing is no carrier gets service at our house. So we need home phone anyways(unfortunately). So that is not part of the equation.

You could look into getting a Femtocell for your carrier. It's just an access point for the carriers cell network that connects through your cable connection.

The GF and I have Verizon. Service is OK around here, but not great (US Cellular's is better), but we signed up on a promotional deal so we each get unlimited talk & text and 1g of data (more than I've ever used) for $35 per person.
But, we joke around that when our contract expires we should just invest in CB radios for the house and for every vehicle instead, because of what it's going to cost us for the same service.
