I used a SGS4 then a SGS5 and I currently use the VZW version of this exact phone and can tell you from first-hand experience that aside from not being water resistant like the SGS5 this phone is better in pretty much every single way otherwise.

I've seen used beat up G3's sell for more than I'm asking for this brand new and still in the box unlocked LG G3. I have never worn this and picked it up on a pro deal. I would take $200 and it retails for $350.

It is shiny black... The stock photo looks like a flat black, however, it is a shiny ultralight "pertex?" shell.
