The turn signal switch does switch the ground connection the flasher module Pin 7 is for the Left Turn ( EL ) Yellow Wire and Pin 8 is for a Right Turn ( ER ) Light Green Wire between the stalk switch and the flasher module.

The Flasher Module is located to the left of the steering wheel under the dash back on the firewall.

I was JUST talking about how I wish I had this earlier today. Nice find @aero253

Looks like it just plugs into the OBD2

The Smart Tap flasher does a bunch of other cool stuff. It does not plug into the OBD port. It plugs into the fuse block. It only works with non DRL trucks. If you have DRL, you have to eliminate it with the grey plastic jumper block.

I have one, works great, cool features.
Semi PITA to install. But about 1hr in your driveway. You will have to pull the fuse panel under the dash(lower dash panel also) to get to the relay on the back side.
Just remember where everything plugs in and check to see if everything is working before you button it all up.
