So.....any other tacoma forums that have this much mod info without the harassment? Lots of hard ass Internet gangsters in here that's for sure. I'm switching from a 2005 tundra access cab. Frequently visited tundra nation, lots of good info and people. But not as much tacoma info.

Personally I've liked every tacoma design. Tundra I liked 1st gen. 2nd gen was a bubble nightmare. 3rd gen seems refined and looks tough. But that thirsty engine needs an update.

It's really hard for me to believe that second generation folks would complain about a more efficient engine, added creature comforts, no more polished aluminum rims, go pro mount (just kidding), updated interior (badly needed), and price increase (it's no longer 2005).

But the one focus is the grill and chrome. Any other truck on the market is chromed out like a harley and the more you pay the more chrome you get. The only rims on an f150 that aren't polished or chrome is the sport.

I guess to each their own. But I will enjoy my updated model with qi charging and heated seats.........and non functional hood scoop.

It is as if Toyota is going to the homes of all of the gen 2 owners to swap out the grills and motors this christmas eve. All of you.. just keep your gen 2 Taco's forever then if you love them so much. You are complaining about someone elses truck. Besides, have you actually taken a step back to read these threads? Most of you have torn apart the gen 2 tacomas right after you bought them anyway. changed half of the parts on it because you did not like what came stock. so, what is the difference? You can just change the 2016 too.

For me, it's just disappointment. I was really hoping for a good looking truck. There are some nice upgrades, but I can't drive a truck that I think is ugly. Those of you getting the 2016, I hope you enjoy them.

What I don't get is how someone could like a 2nd gen but think a 3rd gen is ugly... I mean shit they're VERY similar trucks big picture. But to each their own.

Not sure how that protects a pedestrian. Does it force them under the truck?

It's actually an anti-pedestrian program. In the event of collision, your legs are the first thing to get struck and broken by the lower lip, while a fraction of a second later your torso gets hit by the cheese grater grill and grates your ass up.

Couple thoughts. TW is far and away the best Tacoma forum on the web. It's definitely an enthusiast forum as opposed to an owner forum, and every generation represented has its fan base and hater base as well. There are still posts in the 2nd gen forum about how the 2005-2015s are pieces of oversized shit and how they aren't real trucks because of the composite beds, among other gripes. There are first gen vampire fanboys who absolutely refuse to ever own anything other than a first gen. Second gen owners are the same, and you could guess that when the next redesign comes around that it'll repeat the same pattern of groups who absolutely hate it compared to previous tricks, and those who fap all over it.

All that aside, the flavor of truck largely owned and loved here is lifted with an offroad-centric build design. When the first 2016s are similarly built and modified I'm sure the attitudes of the masses will change, and even those that don't care for the differences in construction and who squabble over engine power and distribution will still drool over a 2016 DCLB on 35s and Method wheels with some type of plate bumper and light bar.

Yes. Bigger wheel. Shorter tire wall. So all the tacos are calibrated the same
