I'm just trying to be fair, you keep saying silver is a good investment. I'm just correcting you as it has not been. Anyone who has bought silver would have LOST money. Maybe if you say, hey guys keep your eye on silver, wait for it to rebound, the technicals are improving or the fundamentals are I might be more inclined to believe that is an objective argument.

I'm also still waiting for this market correction to turn into a full blown crash to Dow 5,000 as many have predicted. Meanwhile I've been cashing in all my dividend checks.

    Wow.

WSJ has been shown time and again to be the most biased, easily colluded, unscientific media outlet. Completely and entirely controlled by money, they have even been outed on various occasions for accepting money to write biased stories. When the money grubbers want to trick the moronic general public into buying a specific stock or commodity, they will pay a writer from the WSJ to write a story, and then, just before the story is printed, they buy up a bunch of said stock or commodity to make it look like it really is on the up and up. Then, when joe-blow goes and invests in said stock or commodity the money grubbers dump all their stocks for exorbitant returns on their initial investment. It is a form of quasi-insider trading. Quite fucked, but the WSJ has been stuck in the middle of this for years and years. Hilarious.

Also, any website called "silverdoctors" raises about 50 red flags right off the bat.

I tend not to rely on google for everything. If I did I'd drive a Subaru and eat organic...

Your sources posted that were good, and not all of them were, predicted a slow rise in silver. That's not exactly an earth shattering investment when I've made 10 percent year over year in other investments.

I'll probably buy a roll of maples if I have a few hundred bucks around after Christmas and the apocalypse hasn't happened yet just to play with and give me a reason to follow the market, but the first thing that keeps me from putting in more money than that is the difference in buy/sell prices. Most places and people are asking a 40 percent markup on the coins over base and only offering 15 percent for buying. So if I want out of the market quick I have to make more than 25% just to break even. I mean, I know I can eBay them and shorten that difference, but that alone is somewhat of a pita as far as an investment goes.

I still don't get why everyone who doesn't agree with you is a "troll", many here are posting very relevant points.

I'm not telling you whether to buy or not buy silver. I am also not making any predictions about the value of silver in the near or distant future. I am simply pointing out that you are barking up a dogs ass in search of shit, so don't be surprised when it tells you to buy milkbones..

I have been reading about that. The problem is that silver comes out during zinc, copper, nickel, and the mining of several other metals too. In fact, most sources including yours show very close to a net 0 change in silver stocks over the last decade which doesn't point to an upcoming massive shortage at all. I mean, right now a big demand for silver is in solar panels, but now it looks like those panels will be eclipsed by another technology in the next year or two. Everything points to a slow rise in silver prices, but not enough to cover the type of buyers costs that new maples and eagles incur, at least not in the short run. Mines are failing off in production, but mainly due to the risk of over production. If the price moves 20 percent and the economy jumps a bit, it's easy to see the trend of low silver sticking around for at least 5 years.

Like is said, I think this is something I might play with a few hundred dollars with to experience it and diversify, but it isn't something that makes a mildly seasoned investor like me hard on to go big in.

Because your opinion doesn't mean shit if it's based on nothing..... than it's just trolling........

If you think silver is bad, then what do you care???

No matter you see, you don't read and make stupid comments....

I don't care about the wsj but they are not supporters of silver and even they are saying silver production will be down this year because it's a fact..

But you didn't read it but had time to type some stupid shit........

so any way the trolls are't leaving.....

So next lesson is the silver to gold ratio..... I know trolls, that doesn't make a difference
but for the rest of us.....

SO historically the silver to gold ratio has been around 15-1 depending on supply......
so if gold was $100 dollars silver would be $15.... today it's at 75-1 but it comes out of the ground at 9-1 and there is no surplus of either...

so 1100 / 9 = 122 if it were free market priced...... after production the net silver and gold for investment is the ratio is 3-1 = 366

and total inventory for silver is 31-46 tons and 200,000 tons of gold so there is 4347 oz of gold for every 1 oz of silver on earth....

    and set the trolls free.......

What?!? I<3silver.com isn't a reputable source??? I can't just take their word for everything??

It's almost as if they're trying to get me to purchase silver for some reason..

An opinion based on nothing is no different than an opinion based on biased "institutes"
