Finished product is too heavy for the springs of course but I'm digging it!

Shot in the dark I'm going to say no go with the console vault. I used to keep these standing in my console, but they don't fit after the mod.

I ended up trimming the entire (un-notched) side since there was a need to apply a small amount of force to close the lid from the tight fit. There is still a small amount of force needed, but if I trim anymore I fear I will get into the threading holding it all together... Overall very satisfied with this cheap mod. Any additional room/storage/organization is okay by me.

Thanks to the OP for this good idea !!

What did you use for dividers in the lower part of the compartment? That caught my eye.

I think it's called salex organizer. I found it on this nifty website (shocker). I got the glove box and center console. LOVE them both.

Man, I haven't checked TW in months. Glad more people are picking up this cheap mod! If only I had made like a reseller agreement with Amazon or something, lol!

    Absolutely! With room to spare.

That's a C Cell flashlight between the salex organizer and the fully loaded Grid-It above it.

It will fit the vault, but you just need to organize the items correctly. Some spots can't be used with bulky items, because it will block the vault handle and not allow the lid to close.

Used to be. Old habits die hard and I'll be damned if those Klein scissors aren't the most essential tool in my life next to a pocket knife. Good eye sir.

I took my Grid-It out of the 06 I traded, but i ended up putting it into the bottom of the glovebox. I keep tire pressure gauge, leatherman, pens, etc. in it and it kept closing my center console lid. Now I have it in the glovebox and it still keeps things from flying around and my center console lid stays open when I want it to.

just stick it in the glovebox if it no longer works in the center console! it'll still stop things from rolling all over.

    My Version

I ended up having to clean up the plastic with Acetone for the Velcro to stick. Without cleaning it up, this is what happened:

After I removed the extra fabric from the back and re-applied the Velcro this is what I ended up with:

I ended up trimming the Grid-It too much and will need to re-do it sometime, but for now it is doing what I want it to do.

Arrived today. Nice little accessory. Not sure if it will fit with the console vault with the items I want to put on it but it will certainly work in the glove box to keep things from migrating to the bottom.
