It says on my invoice that I have this function, but even using the owner's manual instructions, I can't for the life of me make the passenger seat fold flat. What the?

    ????????

Pretty sure it is only on non-TRD models. The bigger bolsters on the TRD seats prevent it from folding flat. Mine folds flat, there's a separate lever for it, different from the recline lever. I have the SR5 trim.

    Yeah, mine's a TRD OR.

The only lever behind my passenger seat is (I think) the same as the recliner lever, because the recliner lever moves up when I push the rear lever down, so I think they are connected.

I have the fold flat "option" and for the life of me cannot think of one reason why I would need to fold the back rest forward. I have only had my truck for a week now so maybe I will have an epiphany later on.

I don't know why either, but the seat covers I'm ordering are different for the fold-down versus the non fold-down seats. Despite what it says on my invoice under "Standard Equipment" I am convinced that I don't have the fold-down seat.

Oh yeah, you have to pull up on the reclining back seat lever and bring it to the utmost forward position. Then on the backside there is a little lever you have to pull up on to make the backrest come forward.

Bottom line. If all you have is that large lever on the side and not the little lever on the back then you do not have the fold flat. Standby for pic of little lever.

Flat table to work with a laptop, files, paperwork, etc. Or eat lunch. Some of my older company vehicles had this option and it was actually quite handy to get some work done without being all cramped on my lap.

Kbel, yeah, I would REALLY appreciate a picture of the lever(s) on the back of your passenger seat. All I have is one lever back there, and it appears to be connected to the recliner lever.

Actually, there is one lever on each side of the backrest.

Is there just one lever back there, or two?

On the plastic portion of the back of the backrest is a label with instructions for the fold flat as well.

Thank you very much. I only have a black lever back there....no gray or other colored lever. My lever in the back can only be pushed in, not lifted.

Well, if "delete" is regarding the fold-flat feature, then I guess I'm correct that I don't have it.

Thank you to everyone who helped out! This site is pretty damn cool. :)

Cool, I thought I was going crazy for not being able to figure out how to do it.
