Apparently despite selling tons of TRD-offroads here. , Toyota decided that they were not going to allocate any with the non JBL premium and tech packages to the mid atlantic and its possible my dealer wont be able to get the allocation for 4-6 months. Really doesn't make sense that they would offer a brand new option like that and just say "meh not gonna make em here". Dealer says every other non-limited order has been requesting it so its definitely not unpopular. So I will be waiting a while now.

Just call up a dealer outside the mid atlantic and make a trip to buy it when it shows up. You don't need to wait 4-6 months if they won't do it in your area.

Its hell on earth getting an out of state vehicle registered in this dump of a state. I'd go to someplace with zero sales tax and bring it back in a heart beat. I know of only tears and suffering from others who have tried this. usually issue is getting the new tags before the temps expire and you have to get the state inspection as well as bend over for the sales tax again.

You give the dealership your home address to register it and they will do all the paperwork. You should leave Maryland. Find a home address to register it to yourself out of state and then tell Maryland you moved and brought the truck with you. This workaround isn't hard

Lots of dealerships in VA do this. Some people have had no issues. I can wait. I expect if there really is the demand Toyota will adjust accordingly.

I bet your dealer is full of shit and just wants you to buy a 2015 because it is already on the lot. Tons of sleazy salesmen out there. Just do more research.

I have heard the same story from 2 other dealers. One being a confirmed shit bag the other just being stubborn on price but they thought it would be more like 2 months. Nope. Is what it is. Might save my ass if any major issues come up with the first few built.

I thought allocated vehicles could be swapped regardless of their final destination if they had not already been spoken for. I have seen members on here claim their vehicle was being allocated to another dealer 2400 miles away. I would press them and see what the deal is. Maybe you don't have any coming to your region but surely there are some being sent somewhere else in the country. It should just be a simple swap in the system.

Mine was headed to another dealer and my dealer snagged it and claimed it was sold. He is getting the truck. He apparently can see every truck in SET. Not sure he can see other regional distributorships

I really wouldn't want to leave. MD sucks. I might use the lack of car payments as an opportunity to load up on some more toys and ammo.

Based on my options and pricing ($36890) I'm just going to wait it out and drive the old outback another winter and maybe fix the CV boot that just tore. Been waiting since the release what is a little more time. I think there was another thread on here mentioning the lack of moonroof parts.

FWIW I was told the same thing about allocations for DCLB TRD off-road in the mid Atlantic. Dealership said nothing was planned for the region. They told me it could be three months. Maybe mid October (7 weeks) best case. I ordered mine 2 weeks ago and still no build date.
