I'd think so. I have the truck back...they said anything with a rust hole is failing, pretty much. Mine was about pencil-sized.

Who knows, maybe by then they'll have a leaf spring solution too.

X2 See if you friend can bring it in BEFORE you buy it. This way the truck is checked and updated and you have a more info before you lay out the cash.

My truck is going in on Tuesday for frame replacement. Anyone know if they replace motor mounts and transmission mounts? Anyone have that done as an "extra"? They said they're giving me a HIghlander as a loaner. Will keep you all posted.

From Prior Post that listed included parts lists I do not remember seeing any mounts. However, if they are too bad to reuse the dealer should change at no change imo

I was looking up prices on the mounts and came across an issue with the 05 motor mounts and frame failure ( mine is an 05). Seems like the 05's had motor mount failures where they attached to the frame and that the design was improved in the 07 models. I'm going to take a look at my mounts and see if there is any problem there now.

OK Understand. Perhaps of the part costs are low and they change for gratis then I'd do this too.

Hate to ask this if it has already been addressed in the thread but, I just recently bought a used 2013 DCSB TRD OR with just 16k on the odo. Truck was owned in North Carolina but now resides with me in MS. I crawled under the thing prior to purchase and everything looked good except for the rear shock tube bodies and the leaf springs...way too much rust on these parts for a 2 year old truck!

Is this frame rust issue still a current problem that I should be worried about on a 2013 or was this fixed / resolved by Toyota along the way with these trucks?

So SNAFU number 1. Had an appointment to bring the Taco into the dealer this morning. I was told they were all ready to do it.
When I get there they tell me they are still waiting for one bolt kit. They also were going to give me a Corolla for a loaner. I told them I need a bigger enclosed truck to use, Highlander preferable, Rav4 at the very least. I left with my truck, they said they would call me. I was not happy. Emptied all the gear from my truck and removed the Undercover tonneau cover.

    None....... so far.
Well, the dealer finished my truck late Sat. and I went and picked it up yesterday afternoon after work. I figured it would take more than two days, so, I'm a bit impressed. I haven't bothered to go through the part numbers and try to figure out what they replaced. The truck rides like it is brand new. No squeaks, rattles, etc.

Anybody else have their frame sprayed by Toyota and have noticed it's already rusting through and flaking off? It's been around 6-8 months since it was done on my truck. I'm not very impressed, I was hoping it would fail to the point of a frame replacement because spraying it is more of a band aid. Just curious as to what other guys have noticed on their trucks that were sprayed. Thanks

Got a call from the dealer this evening. Said they'll have the parts tomorrow and rescheduled for Thursday. And they will have a Highlander for me. Let's see what happens.

3 months from when they first inspected it.
