It will feel better once it loosens up. I remember the wife's 14 Sahara when we first got it. Getting antsy for mine...any day now.

Taxes in California are a minimum of 8%. So on a $35,000 truck you would pay $2,800. Plus tags, doc fees and $900 delivery fee it does come out to $39,000.

Michigan is 6% no matter what... $35,000 brings that up a very healthy amount to 37100, throw in other fees and dealership bullshit and that could easily hit $39k

Don't worry, 1st gen owners complained they wouldn't pay $30k for a Tacoma when the 2nd gens first came out. Congrats on being the 1st one to complain about the 3rd gen price.

Base rate for the state is 6.5%, IIRC there are a few counties near 7%, most hover right around 8 and it tops out in King at 9.5%.

Thank you since I paid nowhere near $30,000 for my 2005 Tacoma TRD DCLB Sport 4x4 or my 2010 Tacoma TRD DCSB Sport. If people did they got robbed hard.

Agreed. 2nd gen owner here and this may be what I get next. I'm still debating between this and a full size. Don't really need a full size yet but trying to future proof myself. I love the size of the Tacomas for trails. This is a nice looking truck regardless of what others say. Most "new" things are frowned upon at first but grow on people. I'd love for my dealers around here to start getting them. That way I can look at them in person.
