What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I advise getting tcase first IMO. I have been running IFS and T case only for quite some time. I plan on making the transmission soon but if you look under your truck as to what can hit first your tcase is much more vulnerable. @tibblits920 my tcase skid is holding up great but I recommend gusseting it a bit, mine bent enough to be slightly touching my tcase now.

 

Btw does the transmission skid plate fit with the original TRD skid plate?

 

I might just do that. I do go off-roading every month or less.

Not sure..I ditched my stock skids completely.

 

Hmm I might just get the transfer case skid plate. It's only $230 and I might spray monsterliner on it.

 

Definitely worth having a good set of skids. I keep crunching mine up and exposing weaknesses in them as I run them. Just makes me want to re work them/ their mounts every time till it becomes bomb proof. I'm sure I could just take it easier on the truck but where is the fun in that? Especially being the only one on smaller tires/ manual with no crawlbawx in the groups I wheel with.

 

Oooooo I like those skids better than the Allpro ones. No offense to them, I just like these better

 

Anybody know if Dr. Rack Doctor is on vacation or sick? I want his complete rack setup which includes ES bushings and outer tie rods ends. I've been emailing him this week but no work back yet.

 

Rear drums and shoes? where to buy and should the springs all be replaced?

 

So, if you guys look closely, you'll see that I have some trimming to do as indicated by the sharpie lines where the washer tank is and opposite that. What should I do so that this will look as awesome as possible? I'm aware that I'm going to need to relocate the washer tank and I think someone posted a nice tank a little while back for their relocation?...basically how should I go about trimming and preventing rust in these two areas? Also have very minimal trimming on the fenders as indicated by this sharpie line

Springs sets are cheap and if you are replacing the shoes the springs are already off....

 

This kit is what I am thinking, It replaces everything.

For the washer tank, make your own out of PC tubing. Pretty sure it's been done before. @Blackdawg

Are you sure you need to trim the metal? I'd didn't on mine. If you do, how about just bending it inwards?

 

I'm sure. Unless I want to bash it against some rocks lol. That might work though. I'd like to cut it if I must

 

Is there a difference between the 2x4 and 4x4 Steering Rack?????

 

I bought the centric kit on rock auto for $135 shipped. Haven't installed yet.

 

I cut the shit out of those corners of the fender. More clearance!
