Big thanks to you Jeff @VolcomTacoma we killed two birds with one stone and installed our 2.8 pulley's today. These blowers rock with the 2.8 and really peps them up. Boost kicks in way fast and applies more of it, even on this 100+ degree day in the bay area I am still hitting nearly 6 psi. I can only imagine what more I can get out of it with the temp drop.

I love go fast mods. :)

Received tracking notice for the hood bracket today. Waiting for a price on the low temp radiator( dealer was on crack with their prices!) from a friend in the collision repair business.

Did you get a second pulley? I thought the initial install didn't go so well.

Any pointers you guys can provide having done it a couple times?

I might have an extra mounting bracket soon. This is the one that holds the inter cooler pump.

Question for those who know......currently in addition to the supercharger I have the trd exhaust.

Would I get much benefit adding the URD cat less mid pipe?...I have an opportunity to get one a good price.

    2 ppl minimum.....preferably 3.

Get a boa type strap wrench to keep new pulley from spinning on install.
Get correct wrench for install tool.

Be large, or have a large friend with you.

Once u start, DO NOT stop until fully seated.

Don't forget to lube bearings on install tool

Use some conventional oil on snout

You'll see a larger benefit with TRD SC+ URD catless midpipe than TRD SC+TRD Exh. So TRD SC + trd Exh + URD midpipe = :burnrubber:

Getting rid of the cats alone will allow your boosted engine to "breath" easier. Might see an increase in psi, etc. Increase in PSI usually means higher HP output.

The pulley totally wakes everything up, about 20 minutes after Rob @12TRDTacoma left I ran to the grocery store...hit 7 lbs of boost in 3rd a couple times, and its 90 some odd degrees outside. Im guessing at 5 AM and 50 degrees outside ill hit 8 lbs easily lol.

Now to get my fuel pump installed and find an exhaust guy to do headers

How are you getting that much? I just broke 6 here tonight briefly, though I think my digital guage is off. Innovate MTX digital boost guage.

Long story on the reason I had the second pulley. Yes I did have a secpnd spare pulley though.

My advice is to first remove the old pulley and check your snout out for any burrs or scratches. If you have any take some 2000 grit sandpaper and smooth it out. You can either use conventional motor oil but myself and Jeff opted to use antiseize. It worked well. Put the new pulley in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 300 and while holding the pulley with a strap wrench begin the install. Once you start DO NOT STOP! crank down on the install tool until you feel it stop, by then the pulley will be fully seated. Enjoy your new mod. :)

The fuel pump is a total bitch, and time consuming, just a heads up Jeff. If I was to do it now I could do it in under an hour I have gotten quick at it. The most annoing part is lifting the bed enough to work on and be able to pull the assembly out. It's tall. I ended up propping the bottle jack on the bed and just lifted it using that after I could fit it in between the frame and bed.

What about it? It's not bad. Just time consuming, and annoying.

I was planning on baking at a higher temp instead of boiling, so good to hear that worked. I was also going to wait till winter so the shaft is maybe roughly 40 degrees ambient temp prior to the install to get the largest temp delta, instead of the 80 degrees it is today.
