I think if you treat this forum how you treat social media. If you're here for technical chat and only seek out those kinds of threads, that what you'll get out of it. If you get caught up in OffTopic political messes then that's your product. On social media (FB, Twitter, etc) if your timeline fills up with negativity maybe you're following the wrong people.

I try to add positive technical posts when I can but if you look at my post history you'll see 99% of it is in Hockey Trash Talk - mainly because I love @OZ-T so much. The mods here are fair from what I've seen and most members I've been in contact with are respectable.
