Noob question

    Noob here,
    I've been searching and can't find an answer. What is a TSB rear? I can tell it has something to do with the leaves but not sure exactly what. I see everyone talking about them but I can't find any explanation of what they are.

    OK, now flame away but please at least answer the question while you're at it.

    Its a new 4 leaf spring replaceing the 3 leaf OEM springs. :)

    You should be able to find the actual TSB for it if you do a search up top. Alot of people here have been able to get it done at no cost. Good luck.

    Thanks. What's the story with it? Is it factory/aftermarket? Stiffer? Lift? It sounds like it would be good for hauling/towing and bad for wheeling.

    The factory does it huh? What are the advantages? My truck is under warranty and the guys at the local dealer are awesome. Should I inquire with them?

    You'll find a ton of info about it by searching. But to sum it up, yes get it done if you are still under warranty.

    I have a search writeup that I did that may help you generate better results. Click the link in my signature. I'd suggest a Titles-only search for TSB.

    Basically, the stock springs are weak and cause the truck to bottom out easily creating a rough ride. The TSB springs add a helper leaf which stiffens them up. The advantage is that your truck doesn't sag when the bed is loaded.

    On mine, they were so weak that the truck would hit the bump stops when going over a curb. It does stiffen the ride a bit but I don't think it's bad.

    It gave my truck about 1.5" of lift. I've got a serious rake now but I'm planning on getting some 5100s to take care of that. It'll ride a little stiffer once it settles but it makes a huge difference when driving with a load. I recommend getting it done if you're still under warranty.
