    people don't like change..

    something about a V8.. especially a carb V8..

the grill wasnt that bad in person tbh..

the front overhanging bumper is definitely the biggest cosmetic eyesore I found..

That Taco in your sig is what I was going to order.. but 4wd.. 38.5 OTD with all the trimmings. The 040 looks good on the new ones..

Hey look I found the 3rd gen that everyone(who is a moron) has been wishing for has been BUTCHERED by Toyota south africa.

Those monsters pulled the perfect 3.0L diesel out of a Hilux and put in a girly car engine from the Lexus IS-F, a 5.0L V8. What a disappointment.

    Sounds pretty awesome though.
    ------
In recognition of not only the sheer number of Hilux vehicles produced, but also of its unparalleled success as a competition vehicle, Toyota SA Motorsport has built a one-of-a-kind Toyota Hilux. Known as the Toyota Hilux Racing Experience, this unique machine is a celebration of Hilux.

At the heart of the race version of the Toyota Hilux is the powerful and flexible Lexus IS-F V8 engine. In celebration of its racing success, this is the same engine that does duty in the Toyota Hilux Racing Experience vehicle. With more than 335 kW [449 HP] of power available at 6,000 rpm, this is most likely the most powerful Toyota Hilux ever built. However, the Hilux Racing Experience is much more than just a Toyota Hilux with a big engine - it is a finely crafted machine that embraces a host of technology used in Toyota SA Motorsport's Hilux race vehicles.

Just went and checked out a 2x4 TRD sport. Just got on the lot, still had the seats wrapped in plastic. Here are a few pics...

I love everything about the new Tacoma EXCEPT the power.
I won't buy it until there's a more powerful option... either factory, dealer install or aftermarket kit.
You can save all the "that's all you need" and "why do you need it?" posts cuz we all have different needs/wants.
Not paying 38k for 278hp.... makes me laugh just saying that... really Toyota?
Still, great update other than that.

Yeah, I'll stand pat with the 280hp and 320 torque 4.7L. It's not the latest and greatest but I guess I'm in poverty class now. No way I pay $32k plus for a 4WD midsize.

I love my 4.7L.. Had the privilege of having 2 at the same time. 1 in my 04 4runner SE that I still have(my baby), and the other in my now gone 05 LX470.. The runner has 200K+ miles, the LX had 101K. Despite the miles, you couldn't tell them apart.. They ran the same.. An amazing engine..
