Just drove it two hours ago.... DCSB-Sport. Was impressed how nice it looked from the outside except for the front chrome grill. It looks cheap and feels even cheaper...like a dollar store plastic toy. Dampened tailgate is very nice. Interior was far nicer and 'richer' appearing then the gen2. Extremely quiet and smooth ride. On entry to the freeway it revved quite a bit and felt very sluggish until it hit 70's. Felt almost as if it was being held back from behind. Overall...in appearance a big upgrade from gen2. image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

Is there any hope of getting these things beyond California and the Southwest?

You know, I heard that very same rumor...however it appears that the faucet is trickling open in different states before others.

For anyone interested, I contacted two big dealers in the Greater Boston area and was told by both of them to expect them in the New England region Late October/Early November. Sucks to wait to test drive one...

Can you get some more pics of different angles? I've been waiting for this exact config and all the pictures suck. PLEASE AND THANK YOU. CONGRATS. We are all so very jealous.

Okay so I would like to update my previous post...
After learning what ECT button was I used that on the test drive and it did feel a little better. I also drove a sport as opposed to the SR5.

The hood scoop was kind of hard to see over but overall I liked it the second time around.

So I have never driven a gen 2. I own a gen 1 and drove my Uncle's FJCruiser with manual once. Is the gen 2 Tacoma "sluggish" too?

Probably due to demand and geography. IE: Texas and California get em first because we are better than you... Jk, because proximity to the factories and our two states make up the vast majority of tacoma sales in the US

Get out with your logical musings.

It's a fucking conspiracy and I know it.

2nd gen has balls, but terrible throttle response.

The new truck is supposed to have improved throttle response. I'd like to hear about that if anyone with first hand experience can comment.
