One of the things I like about the 2nd gen is the composite bed. Only had my truck a couple of years so I was wondering how they stand up to UV radiation over time. Is the use of something like Aerospace 303 protectant advisable?

I used 303 on my 08 and never had any issues, already put it on the 15.

Yeah, Access Cab. I have a bed mat because even without any kind of protection, it's as slick as owl snot.

I really love the BedRug I have, totally covers up the bottom and sides of the bed, UV protected, I can take it out easily if need be and when it gets dirty, I can rinse it off with the hose and it looks like new.

Better yet, the bottom has ridges that fit into the ridges in the OEM tailgate, so it doesn't murder my knees when I kneel on the tailgate to retrieve cargo.

I love mine, I think I saw one for sale on here for $300, which is a steal IMO.

    Found it!

My bed gets scratched up too frequently for any UV protectant to be of use. But the again, I don't recall anyone reporting issues of UV damage to their beds.

A Bedmat helps take away any slickness.

Adams Super VRT works better than 303. VRT will bead water and won't run after rain.

That's primarilyy decorative stuff, no? Persistant shiny tire dressing AFAIK. 303 may not be as shiny, long lasting (but it does seem to last a long time), or bead water as well, but it's like SPF 40 for both synthetic and natural materials.

No, it's not decorative. VRT has SPF or protectant in it as well. I use both products. 303 never goes on anything exterior. VRT isn't really shiny compared to other products out there. Has more of a satin finish instead of a wet look.

303 on the sides and oem bedmat work well for me.
